I think we should explain who Hornchurch are first Slarti, for the new people.

Hornchurch were a club in the East End of London, some double glazing firm took them over then went bust.

Unfortunately for us it was about a week too late as the previous Saturday they knocked us out of the FA Cup and then it all went a bit wrong. As soon as the money ran out half the team f*cked off to Grays and we got Paul McCarthy. The Club didn't go bankrupt straight away, they waited until the end of the season.

They've now reformed as AFC Hornchurch, the same three letters we'll have in front of our name in about five years.

You'd be surprised how much MyFC members know about football.

No need for the three letters. The rules of MyFC prohibit MyFC from putting the club in debt. At the worst - if MyFC folds - the club will be debt free (unless existing debt hadn't been wiped out) and the club would (in all likelihood) be owned by the local supporters trust.

There are no rules that prevent any company from getting itself into debt. The only things that can do this are sensible financial planning couple with good cashflow management. Regardless of who (individuals) or what (company) owns the shares in Ebbsfleet United Football Club Ltd, that company - the football club - is still perfectly capable of getting itself into debt. Be under no illusions about that. As a basic example, the club could enter into year-long contracts with all its players, and have budgeted for average crowds of 1000 per match to cover this expenditure. If your average crowds turn out to be only 500, the club will have to borrow money to pay the wages.

Can any of the MyFC members answer me these questions:

1) Are you all members of an Industrial & Provident Society, and what is it called?

2) What is the annual membership fee for this IPS? £35 or £27.50?

3) Is there are a separate company that administers the website? Who owns it? Does £7.50 of your £35 go straight to this company?

4) Which company will actually buy the shares in Ebbsfleet United FC Ltd? The IPS, or the website company?

5) Who is on the board of directors of the IPS?

6) When is the next AGM and election of the IPS?

7) Who will be on the football club board of directors? Will a set number of directors of the IPS also be on the football club company board? Will the members vote on who these people are?

I believe all of those questions are covered in ther Terms and Conditions on the MyFC website. This is the site open to visitors, not just the members.

Here's one for you:

21% of the Society's members fees each year get turned over to My Football Club Ltd. At the moment, that figure is £7.50 per person. If MyFC does reach its target of 50,000 members, that's a not insignificant sum of £375k pa going to a 3rd party privately owned company purely to provide "operating services" to the members' Society.

Does that sit comfortably with you?
