A (slightly) alternative view.

Ok - I'm going to throw my opinions into the ring for what they are worth. The more observant among us will see that this is my first post here. I am a long-time lurker and a Gravesend resident for nearly 20 years. I go to Stonebridge Road maybe twice a season so I'm not claiming to be a "fan" as such. I haven't yet registered with My Football Club but plan to do so at the weekend. I support a Premiership team and I consider myself a fan of theirs.

 

Firstly, the EUFC badge has been on the front page of the BBC World News Website for most of today - name me another club in the world that has matched that kind of online profile at any time in the past year. So, the club's profile has been raised hugely by a PROPOSED deal that may still not happen - a good start I feel.

 

Secondly, do any of the long time fans who post regularly on here really believe that the club can do without such a large investment? I know that the investment is conditional but this is the real world and investments usually are. I have read on the various sites that a large amount of the cash will be used to clear debt - such debt presumably attracts a considerable interest burden which will have been putting pressure on the club.

 

Thirdly, this has never been tried before - it may even become a blueprint for the future. The world is changing, the world of football is changing with it - EUFC and My Football Club may become bywords for innovation and change.

 

Finally, there have always been and will always be WUMs on football boards, just as there are in crowds. Don't let the morons spoil it for the majority.
