My View For What It's Worth

I'm one of the people that have paid £35 to join up and have a voice.

Why?

This is my reason.

Up until a few years ago i followed Rotherham United home and Away, I loved the club. Then we won at Wembley in the Autoglass Trophy and the then chairman started selling the players off to make a financial gain for himself. From that day on the board at Rotherham have been in it for themselves - buisness men wanting a "toy" to play with and doing nothing for the fans.

I stopped going - I now just follow England but have missed having a club to follow.

One day this idea of being "part owner" of a club made me sit up and notice.

My own opinion - picking players - the match day stuff - won't work - i dont like it. That should be left to the professional people who do the job for a living. Will I put forward a suggestion on players and formation - don't think so.

Will i vote on sponsorship, wage structure etc....yeah I think I will. My background is sales and marketing - I know about that - setting budgets etc.....staffing lvls all the boring stuff like that.

I have already changed my flight back from Austria on Saturday so I can go to Oxford - I want to be part of history. Sorry if that does not fit with the loyalmindsets of the current fans, but I do.

What I hope will come from this is a trend where people can get together and pump loads of money into a club and not look for profits.

No member will get any money from the club, the club is going to be on a stronger financial standing, hopefully you will get loads of money to push up the table at the turn of the year and get into the football league.

Don't be shallow and say it would be wrong because the money is bad money and we would rather do it on our own backs.

It would be better if it was local money - but its not - its mine and 19,999 others, along with yours and no doubt another 30,000 others money within a few weeks now it has finally happened.

Look at it for what it is - a great oppurtunity for your club to be around for years to come and be financially sound.

Look at MK Dons - what do their TRUE fans think? Bet they forget about it if they go up.

Chelsea fans and the millions pumped into that club and Roman having a say on a great many things on the pitch and the nodding dog he has at the helm now? Nope can't hear them moaning.

It's day one - your club has been "invaded" but look at the positives that your club will now have a great deal of intreast from all over the world.

Many of the people who have signed up to the idea are football fans who want it to be succesful, they want a great training ground facility, with great players coming through the ranks.

They want as many of the old traditions to continue as they can, they want a fan base who buy shirts, programmes, everything and anything so enough money can be raise so YOU LOCAL TRUE fans can sit in a state of the art ground.
