And no, I can't really call myself a fan today, in the traditional sense, anyway. I don't really know what I call myself right now because nothing like this has ever happened before.

But I hope I'll be able to call myself a fan soon.

Kenny. Thank you for that comment. That is the first time someone has said that and respect to you. Most other postees have called themselves supporters and fans already. Which is ludicrous. I hope you enjoy your first visit to stonebridge Road.

I own shares in BP. Do you think they listen to me about fuel costs. Plus I still have to pay for it. Cheeky gits.

It sounds like the arrangement with EUFC is perfect, allowing MyFC to take a controlling interest, but with the option to purchase the rest in a few years at an already-agreed-upon fixed price. That leaves some of our initial capital available to use in the transfer market to try to enhance the club's promotion chances this year.

Agreed with whom????

I have a few thousand shares, and I haven't agreed to sell at any price.

Last time I looked the free market economy still applies, and whilst the company's Mem and Arts may be able to set conditions on my selling my shares, it certainly can't tell me to whom I have to sell my shares and for what price.

If you want them then pm me with an offer.

As I said before, I've only seen what you've seen, the joint press release from MyFC and the club. That's what is stated. I have no idea how that takes into consideration your shares. We'll know the details of the agreement only after due diligence is over and the deal has been signed.

As far as I am aware, the view of the vast majority of MyFC members is that, should they get the opportunity to attend a match, they pay their money and expect nothing in return apart from the chance to watch a team in which they have gained an interest do its best

Exactly. The consternation amongst existing supporters is understandable, but it isn't doing anyone any good to continually assert (on no evidence beyond thegaffer) that MyFC contributors are all useless tw*ts who are out to destroy the club through cluelessness. Fear the worst, sure... but don't assume the worst.

Things I expect for my "investment":
- The ability to contribute, through discussion and referendum, to the (hopefully sound) management of a professional team.

Things I do not expect for my "investment":
- Premier League football.
- Free tickets.
- Free merchandise.
- A seat on the board.
- The ability to sack the manager after the next loss.
- etc.

Things that would be nice to achieve:
- Maintenance of some sense of the club's existing identity.
- Earning some politeness from existing supporters on this board and others.

We're not actually a herd of stupid cows out here, you know. And I think if some of you join in and take the lead in discussions, you'll find that you can wield considerable influence over your club and become a force for the good of your club. Your personal attendance and knowledge of the team is a very valuable asset.

That's probably the best one I have seen on here all day.

Thanks mate. Yesterday was, well, a pretty exciting (for want of a better word) day for everyone though and I think those MyFC members terming themselves new fans or whatever were maybe just a little het up in the heat of the moment.

The thing is that for a lot of us we've been excited about this for several months now (which I appreciate pales in comparison to the length of service most existing EUFC fans will have put in) and with the announcement yesterday they found that all of a sudden they had somewhere to channel all that enthusiasm, all of which obviously resulted in a fairly hefty serving of nonsense.
