I mean, how many of these new so called fans even knew it was called Gravesend and Northfleet a year back?

Being born in Gravesend I'm starting to feel a bit distant from this club.
The name change was disappointing but acceptable, I understand why they did it and it secured us a great sponsor and the same people from Gravesend and Northfleet attended (other than a few who opted out at the change)

Now we have 20,000+ people from all over the country and even overseas who own half our club and claim to support our club even though they know nothing about us nor cared about us before they put their 35 squids in.

It's just so...disappointing.

Oh yeah, how will the new fans ever be able to spend ten minutes reading about the history of the club? Good point, we'll stay ignorant forever. I bet within two years I'll have been to more home games than most of the people who live within twenty miles of the club mate. What does it matter where people come from. I'm sure (going by the average gate) that most people in the area don't give a monkeys about the club but you're going to turn your nose up at people who want to dish out their money to support the club. Cutting your nose off to spite your face comes to mind.

Fair point, but the other way you could look at it is that you have an extra 20,000 fans with a new vested interest in the club.

It's probably crazy to speculate, especially with a real game coming in just a few days where we will see the first impact. But I do believe you'll see a regular influx of fans at both home and away games. I know the revenue at away games doesn't help much, but support helps, and all those members attending away games are putting their annual fees in the pot and buying merchandise as well. I think it'll be one of those stories that grows in popularity if we experience any success in the first two years. If the club remains in the conference for a couple more years, that will really test to see which members are long-term commitments and which ones are short-term glory hunters who will bore easily. For all of us involved, let's hope we get off to a promising start the rest of this season.

It amazes me the how naive people can be - I am a MYFC member and have absolutely no intention of going to a MYFC home game (I live in Manchester), I may very well go to a local away game, my local team being Droylsden FC (3 points for Ebbsfleet there). People ask how many of these 'new' supporters will turn up at a home game - I ask why do you care?????

These 'new' supporters have the potential to provide the kind of financial backing that clubs outside of the Championship can only dream of and what is the price for this, in essence team selection will now be made by these 'new' fans, however for the time being at least there will be little change as most of the MYFC members will have no clue as to who is who and Liam Diash' input into the website on a weekly basis will massively impact on team selection and team voting.

I would expect you to see the real impact of team selection next season not this when the new supporters will have had a chance to digest all of the information at hand and will be able to make a much more informed decision.

Mention has been made of members of MYFC who support other conference clubs and where their loyalties lie - WHO CARES, they have just provided a huge financial boost into your club if they don't want to vote on team selection then just be gracious and say thankyou for your donation to team coffers.

On top of all this don't forget that all current fans of Ebbsfleet United can also join MYFC and have a direct say in the running of their club.

I would advise every fan of Ebbsfleet to go to the MYFC website and read through the FAQ and other pages.
