My view of things

Hi all i Support AFC Hornchurch and wanted to post what i think of this. Firstly i feel sorry for the real Gravesend fans who turn up week in and week out, home and away becasue their club has been took over by 20,000 people in which they will make decisions at the club in which half of them dont support gravesend and make decisions above real gravesend supporters. Secondly I wonder how many of the 20,000 are going to oxford this saturday and then at home to stafford rangers where i read that one person supports Exeter and another from America why help out rival conference teams especially with Exeter and Gravesend as play off rivals. But to the real fans hope this works out for you and you lot dont go under.

Yeh, like thats going to help us financially.

Gah! I'm sick of reading posts from the invaders, I'm off..

lol "Invaders"

I'd love nothing more than for the deal to fall through at the last minute and we put our money into another club. Maybe one with some grateful fans. And if that were to happen, there's no doubt that Ebbsfleet would be in danger of going into administration. Have you wondered why they even came to us asking us to buy them?

Exactly, Ebbsfleet is probably the furthest away from everyone unless perhaps they are from London, they'll all be going to the away games to show their "support" how is that going to benefit us eh

Make all the others teams richer in the process why don't you

I mean invaders of the forum. A lot of you talk nonsense.
Did you really think everyone would be applauding the change?
Hmm yes thanks very much for all the money and thanks for putting the final touches to our club completely losing its identity.

Also another thing is a question for mostly MFC members what happend say for example some of you fans supported say Exeter and then MFC ended up buying Torquay your telling me that Exter supporters are more than happy to invest in a major rival team who could end up doing better than the team they support. and if your MFC team played the team you actually support who would you want to win.

You have no idea what your talking about or how this even works. The only thing that changes is you have more money and more fans. The manager is still in charge, and the board room is still intact.

you all remind me of that couple who own the shop in The League of Gentlemen, "this is a local shop for local people"

Jay, if MyFC members have a personal interest in a rival club and can't reconcile the difference, they simply won't renew when their year expires. There will be some membership turnover every year. It's inevitable.

But in a group as large as the MyFC membership, it would be possible for supporters of a rival club to wrest control from the majority, just to try to assist their other club loyalty.

Look at it this way, we now have more fans (new ones admittedly) of the club than probably original ones. They might have supported the club first and need to be respected as such but we've all put our money where our mouth is now and deserve to be heard. Just because we're new supporters doesn't mean our opinion isn't valid and it's now "our" club as much as the people who have been with the team for years. Forget the opposition, that's going to happen whatever team we ended up wtih. We can make it work and after a season or two when the club is solid financially, the team is getting better and better, all the pessimists and sarcy gits will get on board.

The bottom line is that MyFC members are spending just over 67p a week to play football manager with a real football club, with real supporters who've invested their heart and soul into their club. It's for that reason I find the thing so distasteful.

If they are so intent on democracy then let the Fleet fans have a referendum to see whether they want the deal to happen. I just find it so ironic that this is being imposed on them by a body that wants to portray itself as democratic.

After reading TWO sentances of your post i know that there are football fans out there who make some sence. I myself would love to be in charge of the team i support and i'm sure Liam Daish wants to be aswell, how do these people think he really feels about this?

The long terms supporters definitely need to be heard and hopefully they'll see this is a good thing for the club. One of the hardest things in keeping a club afloat is obviously the money and this is a chance to get the club stable, profitable for years to come and increase the real fan base close to the club. Those people who might not have bothered going to watch a game will probably take a look now. If we increase the real fans week-in, week-out, then that's got to be good for the club.
