Bit of understandable hostility about the MyFC takeover. I'm a MyFC member and now a Ebbsfleet United fan! Hopefully in time you will see that it is genuine football fans who are joining your club.

I can't speak for everyone from MyFC, but for me this is about taking a little bit of our game back from the money men who have morphed the peoples game into some corporation.

Each member has committed money and effort to the cause, i've personally signed up for 3yrs, and i believe in the concept. Hopefully you guys will as well.

Perhaps the way to look at it is that today you've gained 20,000 new supporters.

you dont need 20,000 people to agree to achieve something just a majority. guessing by your name you dont attend many matches. the members that are about to run OUR team are spread from all over the world. In our forums ways to increase revenue has been discussed and ways to improve the team. I cant understand why it has been getting such a negative response.

At least we aren't one bad business decision/messy divorce away from losing the goldmine.

And I believe 20,000 is the baseline. Membership levels in MyFC, now that an actual club is involved and more skeptics decide it's not just a big scam, will rise with time. The original target was 50,000 members. That's not out of the question after the publicity makes its way across the football world.

The fact that you don't understand why its getting such a negative response says it all. The fact that by spending £35 you think it suddenly becomes OUR club when people have spent a lifetime standing on the terraces supporting the club through thick and thin shows a certain insensitivity to say the least. You're not American are you ?

It is apparent that virtually all true Gravesend/Ebbsfleet fans are totally against MyFc, don't you think it would be the respectable thing for MyFc to walk away?

This club belongs and will always belong to the true fans and £700K and a hoard of plastic fans will not change that view. Why don't you all go back to your Premier League teams and if this doesn't satisfy you why not go and watch your local football club. All of you will have a local club that needs extra support or help so why not get down there and keep football alive. MyFc is not the way forward it just a hideous experiment and Ebbsfleet is the patient about to be operated on.

Maybe it hasn't been made clear what the financial position of the club is, but players, managers and owners will come and go, but it will always be left to the true fans to take the club forwards. You were invited by the board, but you are not wanted by the fans so please walk away and earn yourself respect from all true football fans everywhere.

I understand what you are saying. I don't support a Premiership club, as it happens - for the same reasons that I wanted to invest in MYFC. I thought (I still think) it is a very worthwhile proposition.

I have a friend who is a fan of Ebbsfleet and I understand why he is apprehensive. And i truly believe that the board should, on balance, take the views of Ebbsfleet fans into account. If the supporters club are against the takeover, the supporters on the whole are against it - and believe this is an MK Dons situation - they should make it clear they will walk away and the board should take heed of that.

And, if the reason you are against this is because you don't think it is worth adding an extra 20,000 fans overnight, that's fine. And if it is because you want to remain one of 1,500 or so supporters, that is fine too.

Ultimately, I would prefer that the board makes a decision which sits well with the local community as a whole and the fans of the club. If it doesn't, then the whole thing is doomed to failure.
