The Fans- Old and New

Like it or lump it, MFC are here to stay it seems. There is no point showing hostility towards them, as they won't leave. I personally would not have gone down this route if I were in the board of directors, but now they have, we have to make do!

The important thing is, we are now united. I do not want to see the EUFC fans and then the MFC members at games- I want to see the new support welcomed as additions to our fanbase, and them integrating together. Let's face it, it would be easiest to give the MFC's at Stonebridge Road the cold shoulder, but they'll be the ones most commendable out of the 20,000, for actually going to see the Fleet.

MFC members, I urge you to support the team vocally above all else. Join us in the terraces and let the boys on the pitch know they have additional support on the terraces. I personally will welcome you into the Plough End.

The way the proposed purchase is structured, there will be some money for player acquisitions this winter. For the long-time supporters, where would you begin to look to improve the squad?

I would love to, but given the distance (I'm in the US), it's not likely more than a couple of times a year. MyFC's success or failure as a decision-making body will rest on how well it can gather, disseminate, and digest useful information. Obviously, the long-time supporters are the best place to turn for information on the current squad. That's one of the reasons I said earlier, MyFC would love for each of you to become part of the owners trust, so we can learn from your experiences.

Has anyone got the heart to give a brief summary and personal views of players?
Nade and Chukki I like the sound of, I thought Chukki was good at Edgar Street a few years back.

Which is in itself admirable, if a person from the USA can make the trip a couple of times a season then I'm sure we should get significant added attendance week in week out from MyFC. I have no problem with MyFC if the members actually follow/support the Fleet and at least try and get to a few matches.

Even if every MyFC members only attends a single match, it's 20,000 more in attendance. I'm sure that not all members will actually attend, either because of distance or because they also attend another club's matches, but then again, I'm equally sure that some MyFC members will attend far more than once a season. If the shirts were available today, who knows how many of them would already have been purchased?

Live4Ever, your enthusiasm to get some merchandise is exactly what I meant in my post to begin this thread.

www.fleet-trust.co.uk are in the process of setting up an online shop, or you could ring the club on 01474 533 796 or buy one from the club shop.

With the interest this has generated, I'm sure the club will be looking into ways for long-distance fans to buy shirts as we speak.
