No wait, he's a central defender. And captain. He's been here since 2004 - I think that makes him the longest serving player.

Luke Moore is a young striker. He's also played as an attacking midfielder.

So yes, some people know the players. Most everyone else is willing to learn.

Either way, challenge met - point made. People either already know about the team, or they want to learn.

 

Again, I like the band analogy. You spend ages trying to get people to like the same band as you - go see them at the small clubs but nobody else is interested. Then something happens and the band becomes huge. Everyone loves them. It's hard for the "real fans" to even get arena tickets. But they're the same band.

 

Maybe you own a Beatles record or two yourself. Oasis. U2. And so forth. Probably not Atomic Kitten though.

The band analogy is so correct. I wished the others were like you. This is my story. My dad took me to my first Nivana gig when I was 4. I was hooked. I made him take we every week. I bought the scarfs, the T-shirts and the badges. Then Kurt died. They changed their name to the Foo Fighters. Apart from Kurt it is really the same band. When my kids grow I can not wait to take them so they can grow to be loyal supporters of this great band.

Big difference between a football club and a band. Thank you

Well, if you're going to stretch the analogy too far, I suspect that the players you saw as a kid aren't the same players your kids will be watching. Only the name is the same. Like what's happening with the Drifters, the Temptations, and the Four Tops.

 

Which is why it's probably wise not to stretch the analogy too far: it misses the point.

how can a club work when its managed by thousands of wanabes? we need one voice to be listened to and that is Liam Daish's voice. he has taken our club so far and this is how he's repayed? It's just wrong. We might as well film it and televise it on Sky One under the name of Dream Team.
