The head coach will still have a lot of influence in this whole thing. He will report to us and suggest who has been doing well and training and who he thinks should be playing on match days. He will also give input on who he thinks should be bought in the transfer market, or which positions he needs more strength in. Liam Daish is still very much the man in charge here.

 

We realise that you guys may be scared or angry, but you need to realise that the members at MyFC arent a bunch of dumb kids who play Football Manager all day, all of us are pretty hardcore fans who want whats best for whatever football club we took over. Turns out that club is Ebbsfleet, and we will do whatever we can to help the club achieve success and bring some happy times to the fans of Ebbsfleet United.

Its all blx. Football cannot be run by pockets of cash thrown at football has been's. We have always got up and coming players through our books and passed them on. This may now be affected . . . i just cant cope that for the last 10+ yeras i have been one of 1200 fans who watches us and now 20,000 others are going to decide who plays. I have MORE of an idea. Do any of the 20,000 know who Luke Moore is? What position does he play? Paul McCarthy? How long has he been here?

I agree Richard. What the f*ck has happened. All these months I've heard Botley is a fan this or Botley is a fan that. To me this shows that Botley has no [****!!****] idea and has just been a clever b*stard in renaiming the club with view to sell it.

Richard - hopefully then, in future the 'up and coming' players wont be passed on - but will stay and make the team better!

Well then we need people like you to join the site and give your influences to everyone. You obviously know your stuff so someone like you would be a big help on MyFC.

 

And instead of bringing up good talent and just passing them on, why not keep hold of them now? You'll be getting lots of money annually from the members so there wont be a need to sell these players on.

 

Liam Daish will still pick the team, he knows more about his team than us, so when he suggests a team to us, who are we to disagree? The only thing i see changing with Ebbsfleet is that you will get more money and more fans. I dont see how that is a bad thing.

I am against ANY supporters having ANY say on team selection.

That job rests with the manager and assistant.

I of all people have criticised LD for team selection in the past, but it is HIS job. If he fails, the team lose. Lose too many he would be sacked. He understands that. We understand that.

Influence on the team selection by people whose closest view of fleet has been on Sky/Setanta or on CM cannot possibly be able to suggest plalyer A is in better form/fitter than player B.

That is not meant as a put down to our new shareholders, but is a fact.

Leave the manager to do his job.

I reckon if outside influence becomes too strong, LD and AK will walk away, sueing the club for constructive dismissal in the process.

The job would then be a poisoned chalice.

Well f*ck me ! Have I just entered the world ? So, the Head Coach ( whoever that is...we have a Manager currently !!) reports to some "person" who has paid £35 for one share !

I suppose my share certificate for 1200 shares ( which cost me rather more that £35 !) in the club now becomes toilet paper ??

It feels strange with all these new "fans". There were we wanting more support, but I was kinda hoping for people coming through the turnstiles out of an allegiance for the club, not because Ebbsfleet's "ball" had been pulled out of the preverbial hat !!

PS.....having just recieved my morning post ( in the afternoon !) I see that MFC will hold 51% of shares, which, obviously, even under a Labour Goverment, constituted a majority shareholding !! What happens to the "silent" (or not so silent ! ) other 49% ?

I predict a riot !

Why on earth should he suggest a team to the owners? Avram Grant doesn't discuss his team selection with Roman A, why should LD discuss it with you.

Gary - I think you'll find thats why Avram is doing the job rather than José.... Cos Avram DOES listen to Roman!

Isn't Paul McCarthy the bass player out of the Beatles?

No wait, he's a central defender. And captain. He's been here since 2004 - I think that makes him the longest serving player.

Luke Moore is a young striker. He's also played as an attacking midfielder. What, seven goals last season?

But that's all beside the point. I'm sure even those who don't have a clue are willing to learn.

Of course, things won't be the same. It's like when your favourite small band gets a hit record and becomes huge. They're still the same band.
