My Tuppeny Worth On The Day

Well, the day finally arrived. Got down to the ground at 10.15 and already the place was activity bound with all the superb helpers doing a (thoroughly appreciated) job. So, into the clubhouse and first pint at 10.31. The bar starting to fill up properly from 11am. As the morning unwound so did the free flowing drinks which were shared with friends from all corners of the clubhouse. Kept doing a check on the terraces to make sure we would get our normal spots, and after what must have been 5 pints later went onto the terraces at 12.15. Quick exchange of calls with mesers Ryan et al to advise to get out here cos it is filling up. smile

The atmosphere was....well, it werent bad was it ?!? - But to see Matty Game come out onto the pitch was imo superb. So, the lads came out and off we went....

All that needs to be said is simply the lads gave it their all for their club and they will have made another piece of history. Nuff said.

Back in the bar after the game the drinks again ran freely with a real good atmosphere.

Had chats with the lads and remembered saying to Blewitt - 1000 other non league clubs up and down the country would have given right arms to be in your position today so head up son !

So, after god knows how many more drinks...we headed up the crown. Had a singing competition against WHU fans in there and we saw 'em off on that front grin

Fell outta there about 10ish - slamdunked !

But - Ultamately, i wanna say....It was a fantastic day, which was made by all those folk who worked really hard for it.

And in the true manner of The Blue Army....WE 'AD A LAFF

So, off to Ashford we go....Dunno whether to laugh or cry ! laugh

Cheers All !

There's not much else to add on the day concerning the organization or the atmosphere, absolutely brilliant from the moment I stepped into Blunts Wall Road and bought my souvenir scarf to returning to the same spot on the way out and noticing THAT big flag on the house opposite ! See it here: http://www.boomspeed.com/djneil/FA_Cup_Fever_101107.jpg

Good to chat with so many friends from the town in the bar and on the terraces, plus a special mention to the mascot William who stole the show from the (other!) Town Crier on the pitch, giving us something to smile about and relax, just as the tension and anticipation was starting to almost hurt !
