DISGRACEFUL

On the day that the Nation honours its fallen, is it beyond the powers that be that run the Sunday League to time their matches to be at half time or over altogether by 11 a.m. on Remembrance Sunday. We live close to Northdown Park, and had to listen to constant shouting and whistle blowing throughout the two minutes silence. I have no idea what teams were playing, but I hope somebody connected with them reads this and tries to avoid this from happening in the future. - I'm just so angry, it is totally disrespectful of the occasion or is this just another aspect of the don't give a damn side of life in this country at the moment.

Wow yeah I agree with you Ancient Blue, that's awful. I suspect Alliance Boy is right though - they must have had a two-minutes silence before the game. However, that seems quite ignorant of the organisers of these games not to accommodate the match around this day, as opposed to accommodating the day around the match, if you know what I mean.

Fine Porka if it was held. But really, would it hurt for one Sunday in the year, to start the games at 11.05, as I said in my post we were trying to observe the 2 mins at home and all we could hear was a lot of shouting and hollering and whistle blowing for the whole time.

We had 2 minutes silence at 10:30 in respect of Bob and those that have fallen in rememberance. Also werring black armbands in rememberance of Bob. My great uncle died in ypres WW1. I was dissapointed today that I couldn't pay my respects at 11. I'm sure that Kick off could be delayed untill 11:05 but thats something the league need to address. I assure you that as long as i've been playing a minutes silence has been held on rememberance sunday.
