Attendance

Recommended Posts

For those of you who may be interested.

Swansea had a total allocation of 820 tickets which included their permitted comps. Their Total attendance was just over the 300.

Our allocation was pretty much sold out, and had the security arrangements allowed us to sell tickets on the day, (sorry folks) then we would have sold out completely.

I hope the good people of billericay who do not normally attend had an enjoyable day, and some of them return in the coming weeks, months and years.

It was great to see New Lodge filled to the brim like that. And the logistics seemed to work perfectly on the day. Big thankyou to everyone who helped make it all run so smoothly for us "punters".

Mind you, I think my claustrophobia might get the better of me if we ever had a 3500 capacity crowd! Where would the extra 1000 odd fit?

Shame Swansea couldn't sell their tickets, another 500 in NL would probably represent another couple of grand in take for the club... Hopefully the extra policing costs didn't wipe out all the profits.

Has to be said that that apart, yesterday seemed to go very well off the pitch, everybody got in and out of the ground OK, the facilities seemed to hold up well, bar and shop did a roaring trade (I understand the special scarves sold out in under an hour!) and the police and stewards had a quiet day. Well done to all involved with all the organisation and on the day operations.

I don't think 3500 would ever be possible for a segregated game, although there was a bit of space in our end (I was able to carry out some 2nd half pacing up and down near the fence wink ). Yesterday does highlight some of the limitations of New Lodge, and if we're serious about progressing up the divisions then we can expect to be hosting more big games which shows how important it is that we continue to support initiatives like the ground improvement fund.
