Shall I Go To Chesham??

Recommended Posts

Really can't make up my mind about Saturday...

Pro's

  • It's football
  • Few beers
  • Decent clubhouse
  • St Albans to Chesham doesn't involve the M25

Cons

  • Most of EFM won't be there
  • We always lose at Chesham (except when we score three goals in last 8 minutes to win 4-3)
  • Can have a few beers at home instead
  • I'm just SOOO bored with watching non-league football every week

This is a handy message, as even I am not going, I'm off to Rome for the weekend, as it is a great deal nicer than here, meeting up with a friend who's still recovering from being tear-gassed at the Roma Lazio game.

On the plus side for you, you will probably win, we're truly awful at the moment, I struggle to watch them and I would count myself as one opf the most loyal fans going, we're defensively leaky and unable to score a single goal. I think you're more than likely to take all the points.

Which leads me to ask nicely if anyone on here does the NLP reports, have a feeling it is GHA, if they could possibly file copy, I'd be very appreciative and all... If you'd like to send me a PM, I might be able to help you out at least a little.

Oh, and I am currently looking at the price for a season ticket for Spurs!!!

3rd best team in our league? What crap.

You take out those first seven matches, and we've been poor. You even said yourself, if we'd beaten Heybridge yesterday, it would've been our best run since September. Three consecutive wins. Hardly earth-shattering.

Bedford and Hayes are both better than us for a start.

We're not as fluent as we were in them first 7 games but you don't stay 3rd by being really crap, we're not as good as we were hence why we are 3rd but not top.

How can you say Bedford and Hayes are better, I know they've both taken points off us this season but look at their positions!

And lets face it we were the better team against both these sides at home, not away though!

Not this argument again. Oh well, never mind.

How can you say 'apart from those first 7 games?' They can't just disappear. How do you know we wouldn't have won the 7 games if they weren't in a row? If you say that, I could use the same logic and say 'apart from all the matches where we've lost or drawn, we've won every match this season.'

Why do we need to play Earth-shattering-ly well every week? We don't. We've had good days, we've had bad days. We're third in the league. That's better than where we usually end up, and there's a long way to go. As Thornsy said, 'you don't stay 3rd by being really crap.'

If you're asking the board whether or not you should go to the Chesham match, you're asking to be persuaded, which means you don't want to go. So no, don't go. Simple.

Who's next?

If we played Maidenhead away, or Canvey at home now, we wouldn't win. Simple.

If we play Canvey now, I could therefore say 'we're playing against the possible champions, we have a set of players who need to impress and win back disgruntled people around the club, we stand every chance.

At my school, we have different teachers for geography and English.

That's great logic.
If we played Hayes at home the second game of the season we would of won, had we played Bedford we would of won.
If we played Aldershot now, we may lose

If we'd played Stockport County and won, we'd be in the FA Cup semi-final.

If Spurs played Sunderland away last Saturday they might of won (instead of when they did and provided 50% of Wilkos wins), If they played them this weekend they might lose (new manager - lets impress)

If we played Maidenhead at home now, we'd beat them as they aren't on form but were top team when we played them!

Not for a while, no.

Has he...

A) called in sick?

B) been sacked?

C) got pissed off at the state of non-league message boards?

D) out serenading somewhere?

E) gone to get his CD of MAD?

F) gone to watch Spurs?

G) staying silent for the moment, as assassins don't make noise?
