Ozzie.......................

I think LS meant that considering the usual two stikers were not available, putting a non-striker up front on his own while actual strikers sit on the bench instead of being given a chance to shine can certainly be seen as a snub, then considering the first half performance being given a mere 28 minutes is a bigger snub, well not as big as Ozzie Foster's snub though.

Gazza .It wasn't two strikers. Our 3 main strikers were unavailable (Crace,Hammett,Grieves).Even then Edmunds could not even get half a game.

What chance do these players have of ever getting a regular start, when the manager won't even use them as a fourth choice option up front?

I personally think Edmunds could be a great talent if given time.

Yep Foster should have started yesterday and been given his opportunity. I felt sorry for Georgiou having to play upfront on his own yesterday. The one game he is given his chance and he is played out of position as a lone striker

Sorry but in my opinion Edmunds is not up to the standard. He needs far too much time and space, and at this level he is not

going to get it, whilst shying out of too many tackles and aerial challenges.

It frustrated me that Negus wasn't used either, I don't know what he has to do to get a game. He is far more talented than a lot of the dross that we are currently accomadating for.

Velandia was made the scapegoat again. Talk about doing wonders for a players confidence by taking him off 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Why not make a change at half time if that is the plan. We played some of the best football for some time in the 1st half for periods but just couldn't get the goal due to a lack of firepower up top. It's funny how in the 2nd half the game went downhill yet we got the 2 goals.

Jamie Nay made a difference when he came on, and Magona had a good game. Harvey looks very impressive and both Hasler and Bastian were solid as they have been in the past few weeks.

How many times has Edmunds came on upfront in a strong Town line-up? Twice, and he excelled on both occasions with pace, control and a directness on goall that has been severely lacking at the club.Admittedly, when used out of position on the wing in small cup games in understrength line-ups ,he didn't play well.I feel the main reason he doesn't always challenge with 100% committment is that he has become a somewhat demoralised figure due to lack of minutes on the pitch and being played out of position when he is given a rare chance to play.

To think that JC rates Edmunds and that new Harding fella above Negus worries me.

Ok, give him his chance and prove me wrong, then I will hold my hands up.

I understand what you might see in Edmunds, but I will take a lot of persuading. We will have to agree to disagree. I saw him play against Hillingdon Borough in the cup replay, and that was a strong line-up. Don't use the team turning up late thing.

Only once have I been impressed when he came on as sub, and on that day he played on the left wing.

Ozzie has never been given a chance to play up front, wll he ever??

To be fair, he has played for us two or three times up front so far and has not really impressed at all.Although i agree he should have been given another chance against Wivenhoe.

He played up-front twice in the pre season friendlies and was poor.He also came on up-front in a home league game, again he showed no real purpose. He looked slightly better playing out of position in wide midfield, but again didn't impress enough to warrant a regular start in that role.If i was the manager i would have played him as the main striker against Wivenhoe, but it would have been his last chance to show me he could make a worthwhile contribution. The fact that Jim didn't go with him, shows that he has probably already given up on him as a striker.Maybe Jim is still undecided as to whether he can still be an assett as a squad player.

you must be joking thinking about giving up on a 17 year old he is the brightest talent at the club remarked on by peter tayler the other night you know ex england manager well i will take his word over yours

I was talking about Ozzie Foster(The subject of this thread), not Luke..With regard to Mr Marshall. He has the potential to be a very good player in the future. He may well be one of the two or three who break through into the mens team.I think it premature to talk about him or any of the U18 as the sollution to any problems we have in the team at present.Although i would like to see the best couple of youth players getting a regular taste of the first team, with run outs in cup games and occasional appearances from the bench. Then it will be up to them to force there way into the starting line-up through perfomances put in on the field in the first team.
