The result has papered over the cracks. It was a pretty poor performance against a poor side. As usual, Charlie played well and without him we could wel have lost. The officials were poor too with the ref seeming to not want to actually make any decision that was borderline. I accept that we had some important players out but at this rate I cannot see us make the play offs.

What a mindblowing starting 11.Even with all our injuries it was still very very strange. The only two fit forwards at the club left sitting on the bench, with a winger who can't normally get a game (Georgio)playing the whole game up front on his own.A right-back (Campbell) being the most forward player supporting him.Magona playing in midfield but playing so deep he was virtually playing as a third centre-back ,or should that be fourth centre-back?, i can't keep track any more.Harvey played at the back (i think),several people standing near me didn't realise he was playing until the 80th minute when he headed a ball near us ,so telling was his contribution.

Overall,a complete shambles. The players don't seem happy. Some are hiding, some are crying off injured, some are still putting in dangerous tackles, some still can't seem to pass or kick straight. It looked like Jims head was on the block, before the two late goals went it.Supporters very unhappy. Its not often half of the crowd walk out early with their team winning 2-0.

I personally think that was the weakest starting 11 we have ever put out for a home Saturday league match, and it was also one of the worst displays i have seen as well.

Were you there?

No doubt you will also sing about a clean sheet as well, do me a favour it was not just dreadful, it was fecking terrible!

Yet again JC has got out of jail as if it were not for the two late goals surely he would have had the decency to walk, as LS said the players appear to be playing without passion or any idea as to the formation they are playing, there was no width what so ever, a lone striker up front at home against the bottom side who have one point & have scored just five goals! what was that all about? It was though we went out just not to lose.
For the record the two goals, the first was crossed by the right back & headed home by the left back & the second was struck by a centre back that the keeper fumbled, getting the picture are we?
the substitutions were amazing, at no time did we make one positive move to go for the win, we just replaced like for like.

Again we had several booked adding to our already mounting suspensions very soon no doubt.

Yes the records will show three points & a clean sheet but trust me it was awful.

So you admit we played bad, with a large number of suspensions and injuries. You also think you did well with what you had to work with. You may be right but as a paying punter it was pretty makeshift and if we weren't playing a makeshift opponent with 6 new players we might not have won.

If at the end of the season YOU lift that trophy I'll eat all the humble pie you can shovel but for now we aren't firing on all cylinders and the coaching staff need to tune the team to optimal performance. A couple more wins with a bit of s[****!!****] and things might change. At the moment apart from one exceptional game we are one letter short!

You may have the backing of the chairman but he doesn't sing and shout on the terraces and you went very close to some unpleasant chants today.

Magona had a good game and Gazza he was not playing at centre back but in front of the back 4. This is his best position as he can win the ball in midfield something which our other ever present midfielders find very difficult.

2)Jim did not substitute "like for like" He subbed Jamie Nay for Kevin Stephens - a forced substitution because of injury. He subbed Hunt for Valendia. Valendia had another poor game. And finally he subbbed Dean Harding for Andy Edmunds which meant that Georgio had some support up front and then we scored our goals and looked most dangerous.

Gazza you often see a different game to me but clearly today you probably weren't looking at all! Certainly not in the second half.

I Never said he didn't & never said he was, read again!

Agree, but he went straight into the position vacated by Stephens, No?

He subbed Hunt for Valendia...

Err yeah, and where did Hunt play then?

And finally he subbbed Dean Harding for Andy Edmunds...

Exactly, and I didnt see him up front very much, at least not forward enough.

...and then we scored our goals and looked most dangerous.

Dangerous? DANGEROUS? Per-lease, I agree Steph my old mucker we certainly saw a diffrent game, that has to be the most misleading statement ever, you could write for the local rag with outrageous quotes like that.

Yes we did which in the end is all that matters, however I wouldnt wish to watch that every week on our way to promotion, all season we have been poor, which given our league placeing shows just how poor this league is im afraid.

Completely missing the point arnt you, we are commenting on what we saw & it was woeful, the line up, the tactics, the formation, simple as that, you may disagree & thats understandable but as you were not even there dont see how you can comment on our views really.

Intresting name by the way, although as a "True Towner" I would have thought you would have been there today! evil

IF you are going to play Magona just in front of the defence (about two feet in front to be precise),then why the hell do we need Rudi sitting in another holding role just in front of him? and why the hell do we need to bring on Dave Hunt(another holding midfielder) in place of our only creative midfielder? Also why do some fans always single out the likes of Velendia and Edmunds for having some poor games but say nothing when many other Town players also put in poor performance after poor performance??

Our main trouble is that we always have one or two defenders marking no one.We always seem to have four defenders taking care of one or two lone strikers .That leaves us looking like we are playing with a man or two short in the attacking half.Add that to a midfield that sits too deep and refuses to go past the ball when a fellow midfielder is in possesion, means our midfield are invariably too far away from the forward players (player) to create any threat or any sustained pressure in the final third.

Ps..These comments are not made to slate the manager and/or players. They are simply expressed in the hope of offering constructive criticism in the pursuit of hopefully improving peformances.I personally write what i write simply in the hope that the management team may ocassionaly look on this forum and take heed of what we as fans feel could be improved on.
