We booked our place in the 3rd round of the Essex Thamesside Trophy tonight with this win over Brentwood of the Essex Senior League.

 

Kevin Marsden gave us the lead in the 5th minute with a header from a corner and after a Craig Cripps shot from the corner of the penalty area dipped over, Steve Jones made it 2-0 8 minutes before half time with a well drilled shot into the far corner.

 

An improved second half performance rarely gave the visitors a chance to break out of their own half and Jones made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute, blasting an unstoppable shot past the keeper from 6 yards. Keeper Pether made a great save from a fiercely struck 25 yard free kick from Jones after 25 minutes but was wrong-footed with 10 minutes to go when Nathan Elder's effort took a deflection for our 4th goal.

 

Line-up: Kharine, Gooding, Kimble, Moore, Jopson, Marsden (Fox 73), Southon, Cowley (Lowery 55), Jones, Cripps (Elder 73), Benstock. Sub not used: Wood (GK)

I agree Kimble had a good game i though crippo played well aswell.....Ok They wern't the toughest team in the world to play but its a nice morale booster for our boys...

Nnathan really is a top prospect im sure he would have played much except for the rule when players play for essex but remember there are few other reasons why he doesnt play...... Taffe,Jonah, Vinne and Crippo.

 

Anyway yets continue the win against Thame on Saturday !!!!

do u mean Our Batesy?........( i ask because u mentioned there right winger as well so i was wondering if they have a player called batesy ?) anyway it mentions him in the managers report in yesterdays program i think hes back in training but no where near fully fit ....
