DORKING Football Club has had fuel added to fears it is being made victim of a vendetta after suffering yet another break-in.

The Advertiser reported just under a month ago that the Mill Lane-based club had been left reeling after it was struck by vandal attacks and made the attempted victim of match sabotage.

Now yet another attack has occurred between 7pm on Saturday and 2.40pm on Monday.

A large amount of alcohol was taken from the premises as a result of the break in. Surrey Police believe that an unknown number of suspects smashed a window at the rear of the club to gain entry.

Ray Collins, honourary vice-chairman of the club, said: "We still haven't got everything fixed from the last time and we have been attacked again."

"We have had the trees taken down in the corner of the grounds so it can be seen by the cameras so hopefully they will be caught on that. Thank god we didn't have the windows repaired yet. Whoever did this wants to harm the club and it is very annoying."

The match sabotage incident could have cost the club up to £3,000 and damaged their reputation at the Combined Counties League.

They also had to incur the costs of several vandalism attacks. In one incident a pool table, cash boxes and games machines were raided and doors, windows and fences were smashed.

But the club and its supporters are refusing to let these attacks get them down, Mr Collins said: "We have taken advice on what we can put in the club regarding recording people.

"We haven't had any more information on the match sabotage but we have reported it to the police.

"It did not do that much damage in the end because we were able to stop them and the damage it would have caused. Warnings have been put out in the football circles."

He added: "It was a horrible and spiteful business, very nasty, but if you let yourself worry about it you give them a life. We must not let it get us down and we are working on prevention.

"The police know that we are not doing a bad job down here. They know we are the type of people who are just trying to run a nice community football team and whoever has done this needs to be stopped."

Sergeant Peter Gunning-Stevenson, from Mole Valley Neighbourhood Policing team, said: "Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have offered crime prevention advice and suggested ways to improve security measures at the club.

"Police Community Support Officer Kim Boichat has attended meetings regarding CCTV facilities at the location.

"The Mill Lane and Meadowbank areas form part of the local neighbourhood team's regular patrols with officers providing a high-visibility police presence in the area."

larry grayson has been appointed chief security officer.

After an intensive and thorough site visit he said "look at the muck on here" and his idea to "shut that door" is being seriously considered.

The broken windows are still being looked into.

Now if those nasty teams in the CCl could please stop stealing the three points everytime they play the chicks the town would be grateful

so pc 41 turns up and looks for signs of a forced entry. It might be that smashed window, or that one, or that door off its hinges, or they might have come in via the holes in the roof.

how long before the arsonists turn up?

It appears that maybe there just isn't enough money in the police budget to man the CCTV screens in Reigate/Redhill 24 hours a day.

And they say that Surrey is one of the safest Counties in England to live in. YEAH, RIGHT-OH ! I'll stop larfin' shortly !

.... but tell 'em you'll solve your own problems using your own effective methods, and you're told it's possibly illegal and you might face prosecution, even under the 'Elf and Insanity laws !

Would the last person to leave the country, please turn the lights out ? You'll find the switch just to the left of the broken window !!!
