Tickets for the game went off sale at 6pm tonight with no tickets available on the day.

I'm sure they know better than the bbc.

Sorry to butt in here, we're by no means a massive club but I think you'll find our "football miles" are about as economic as your average Kenyan sugar snap pea's "food miles", as like Carlisle, we are one of football's outposts. Unlike Leeds and Man Utd most of our support is from the Swansea / West Wales area (some of our support comes from Pembrokeshire, 60 miles out the other side of Swansea).

I can't afford to go to every away game, and I have other commitments, such as sons playing football today. If it had been a Sunday I would have come as I enjoy the cup games, such as Leatherhead, my first ever away game in 1977! But such is life.

As for poor away support, for our matches to date this season we have had:

Leeds 2,600 (270 miles)

Oldham 1,700 (250 miles)

Bournemouth 1,800 (160 miles)

Walsall 1,300 (150 miles)

Orient 700 (220 miles)

Yeovil 1,500 (120 miles)

Millwall 338 (220 miles) Tuesday night & apparently not the friendliest place!

Cheltenham 1,100 (120 miles) Tuesday night

For League games to be averaging almost 1,400 per game when your next nearest match (Bristol Rovers) is 70 miles, is to me pretty good.

One of the other problems with Swansea (I don't doubt you could come up with others!) which has some effect on our folowing, is that our local parks leagues play on a Saturday afternoon - with over 140 (adult) teams playing that often knocks our Saturday afternoon attendances.

So overall I would say we have excellent support.

Anyway good luck for today (but not too good obviously) - I think you'll find our supporters to be a friendly bunch. Me, I'm off to see both my kids playing!

All the best, been nice speaking with you.

Not at all it's what these boards are about a very good post and sheds more light on the ticket sales.

I think like most in this part of the world we expected Swansea to sell out as they were only getting a limited allocation.

Anyway may the best team win

Barry. I notice your club has the same dip in attendance with Leyton orient as we do with Leyton.

To Expect Swansea fans to make the trip up to the big smoke (and beyond) twice in the one week is a big ask.

Things might work in swansea's favour today and they might manage to draw against us (well you never know) if thats the case i look forward to having a beer or 3 at your place.

Good luck.
