It has even been mentioned in todays paper re lack of silence for Bob last Saturday. Awkward maybe as it was Rememberance weekend so hopefully as Tony says will be rectified this week.

Further to add Bob was Thanet true gentlemen.

We spoke on the phone the night before he passed away, as he had to closed some dates for refereeing as he had to work at Northforeland Golf club every Sunday to the end of the month. He was gutted because he loved his refereeing and loved his football.

Mark Harrop has confirmed Bob did not suffer and die while watching football on TV.

Margate FC, Ramsgate FC and Thanet Refs have lost a local legend.

Miss you Bob.

The family of Bob Harrop would like to thank everyone for their lovely tributes, cards and flowers that have been sent to them. We are absolutely overwhelmed by all your support. We know he was a lovely man but we didn't realise how many people thought the same. On Tuesday he will look down on us all and be amazed to see how well loved he was.

Very nice of you Dave,to acknowledge all of our sincere condolences & thoughts about Bob.We share in your sad loss of a fine man.

As some will want to say a final farewell on Tuesday what time do you envisage going past the ground as I'm sure a lot of people will not want to miss paying their final respects. Again, our heartfelt sympathies to yourself,Cissy,Mark & the rest of the family.

Was about 1.15, guessing about 15 of us there, shame rain probably stopped a few more turning up. Board outside that usually advertises games had Bob's name up and 1936-2007. Nice touch by the club.

I went to the crematorium & what a magnificent turn out! WOW! Cars all up the main road & about 200 people or more there.

Great to see so many turning up to say a final farewell to a super, super bloke.

There were so many ex gate players there you could have picked at least two teams from them. I cant name them all but amongst them I saw Dave Jarman,Jimmy Hunt,Peter Donnelly,Terry Morris,Mark Munday, Dai Yorath,Alan Blackburn,Lenny Long, to name but only a very very few. Club represented by Ken Tomlinson & Colin Page. Many local referees also plus Kevin Raine were in attendance & showing their respects. Numerous Sunday league local footballers.Mick Williamsom from Ramsgate.I saw Bob Bolder also. About 10 policeman(in uniform)there too(not sure why but assuming they were friends of Bobs also)

I didn't realise Bob was an ardent Man.CITY fan,yes CITY.

He & his wife liked travelling by bus a lot,so much so that some called them Mr.& Mrs.Loop.

He loved Elvis Presley & "American Trilogy" was played for all to hear.

Fabulous turn out indeed & though we would all have preferred Bob to still be with us he couldn't have asked for a better turn out on his final farewell.

It was a sad & emotional day indeed but now Bob has finally left us & god rest his soul.

He may have departed from us but his memory lives on & the history books will ensure that he will be remembered in years to come.

God bless Bob,& thanks! We'll all miss you!

Well done Tony. Some great players of the past there which was really nice to know. Alan Blackburn was the best header of a ball i ever saw. Yes even better than Sodje. Davy Jarman the titch that only played in KFC games and then became a cult figure. Wow what a turnout. I only wish i could have been there.

No problem Richard.Bob was a fine man.May I just say that though there were only about 15 or so at the club, these 15 or so represented many many others I'm sure who couldn't be there due to work commitments etc.

It was our pleasure to have known such a fine man & legend of football. Not just of Man.Utd but of our beloved club Margate FC.

R.I.P.Bob.
