Which by my reckoning means....

Northwood - Played 37, Points 77

Harlow - 34, 61

Slough - 33, 60 (+24)

Hornchurch - 34, 60 (+15)

Hemel - 34, 60 (+7)

Wealdstone - 34, 58

Uxbridge - 34, 57

Aveley - 33, 54

Tight at the top but in our own hands. Saturday's result is vital.

Which is why as many as possible MUST make the trip to Hemel. I really believe this game could make or break our season.

Make it like a home match - and no moaning!

Did you ring round Chris? That would explain the short shrift I got from some if they were plagued with Slough fans phoning!

Northwood, it seems, are especially bad losers. "Northwood nil Uxbridge one" and he slammed the phone down! The guy at Aveley seemed quite chatty though and was pleasant despite their defeat. Wealdstone's thrashing seemed to particularly amuse him!

i rang Hemel and they told me it was 1-1,i was a bit confused when i saw 0-0 at the top,but at least they didn't win, actualy the guy told me that hemel won 5-3,but i think that was coz he was getting ennoyed with me for phoning 19 times in the second half!

He definitely told me it was 0-0 as I remembering him asking which team I was calling from and he said "see you on Saturday" when I told him. Probably find out now that Wingate didn't really score five and Northwood put eight past Uxbridge!

The clubs around us are dropping points wholesale. It gives us a great chance of consolidating a good position on Saturday, and suprisingly enough, even a defeat on Saturday would not be disastrous---we would still be in with a shout. Odd position to be in as usually you need to average 2 points a game to feel anywherenear safe in 2nd position, but this year it may well take less.

I still think with other top teams having to play each other including our games at Hemel and Harlow...vital vital I still think if no disasters in Essex , we can lose 2 or 3 matches and still be in there at the end....so if we lose a match or two on the way , keep our faith and support our team we have a real chance to be there at the end of the season....making for a granstand finish....

up the Rebels.....

Saturday is crucial. I said a few weeks ago that whoever wins on Saturday is going to be in good stead. 6 of the top 7 teams are playing away from home, and most playing difficult matches, such as Northwood at Aveley, Uxbridge at Barking, ourselves at Hemel and Hornchurch at Thame. Winning on Saturday is a must as contenders are going to drop points, lets hope we can secure back to back away victories!
