News to cheer up MisrableMichael

Just when you thought it was safe,i've decided to post again.

Actually, despite last nights defeat, not too miserable-but therein lies the problem-the passion has gone and until there are significant changes, the passion will probably stay gone.

You never stop supporting and hoping, but deep down, there comes a time when you know that as things are-it just ain't going to work.

Have come to accept we are an average side and so be it.

We will win a few, lose a few and draw a few, because if you don't change things-you keep getting the same results.

As per signing a defender-again-completely underwhelmed-RT has committed self-sabotage two seasons running by last season snatching 6th from the jaws of the play-offs; and this season,by completely neglecting the defence from mid April.

If he does not seem to care-why should i.

As Pagey says though,an approach is one thing-signing someone is something else -i think we've been here before-so i do hope it happens for him this time and wish him well.

Again, where he has made signings, they seem pretty good, but always too late.

You still cling on to the hope that he will suddenly turn into a good manager-and believe me-i want him to-and there is no point in clamouring for a different horse until we are in the depths of relegation mire-i think we are just about good enough to avoid that-and maybe ,just maybe, RT can build now for a fully fledged title assault next season.(he has imo left it too late this season but would love to be proved wrong).

Is RT brave enough to realise that some of our 'current legends' have served us brilliantly, but they have not got enough in them to win us the league next season; so start now slowly changing a few 'legendary faces 'prior to next season. Is he really as tough as he suggests;or is it all a bit too cosy.

Coming back to potential defender signing,i was in Kent to read the `article yesterday, and did it not also say he wanted to sign a right back, right midfield player, central midfield player;and Charlie Side is going to have a nose job so will be out for a few weeks aswell

Who's paying for that lot ?

Sounds like a Xmas wish list in fantasy land to me;and just wish he had realised back in April that when you release defenders, you need to replace them.Did that really take him until now to work out-unbelievable !! (yes-Young is doing fine, but can't do it on his own )

Frankly, if you were operating in the corporate world and your manager made such a gaping error, you would class it as gross neglect of duty and certainly issue them with a final written warniong. Its no different to being in charge of Tesco's and having no bread in the shop for 6 months.

Imagine what a difference it would make if we had just 5 more points in the league and were still in one of the cups.

Still better late than never, lets consolidate our nice mid table postion, see if the club can attract crowds above 300 for rest of season and look forward to a change in fortunes for MFC under RT in 2008.

I enjoyed reading that post Michael & most of it rings true. But despite some of those negatives & concerns we are STILL in with a chance of a play-off spot.Theres still a long way to go yet & we can only IMPROVE on what we have done so far(famous last words) so who knows. If we CAN improve the defence we could still turn things to our advantage. But do the directors want that this season I ask?

To me it looks like they would be more than happy just to consolidate our place in this league this season having not payed out too much to have done so. If that is the case then we should accept that Trotty has had no funds available by which to get players in to improve the squad. It DOES look like we are going to be mid-table this season I agree.

Its unusual for the rumour mill not to speed into action either on this or the Ryman forum as to whom this approach may be for.

Maybe an element of 'we've heard it all before' has crept in,and we'll believe it when we see it ?

Lets hope this time Mr Troot really can get his man.By god we need it.

Well the bad news in todays paper is that the player concerned is still to make a decision, the other one being looked at doesnt want to move here. Trotty says he may be forced into a loan signing especially if Jay, Skins etc still injured.
