lack of style.....

Recommended Posts

I was thinking the other day...Every time i go to watch our arch rivals Southend Manor they let me in without paying even if i offered to pay for. They even say i should use your club pass as an ESL manager. We had our fights in with our cousins but what class applauseI have been to another ESL club and the gay at the gate, has even questionned my willingness to pay for, without even opening the mouth! doahI also heard a sub gk for another ESL club, trying to get in at Hullbridge last year ceekily using a club pass that didn't belong to him. There is really a lack in style from some individuals but hats off to the Southchurch club, they are class! asien

Muse: I wonder who is being referred to here. Still I'd better not respond to him as I may be accused of being obsessed with him again. doh

I think unless you are the away team no one should be able to flash their ESL passes and expect addmitance to another ESL club. It's theft!!! To do another ESL club out of a piffling fiver is sad and comittee members who do this should be ashamed of them selves. Recently 2 footballing brothers from a canvey based football club mooched there way into Romfords ground, by saying they had tickets from the manager for the game that night. This was not the case!! Obviously I would not wish to embarrass the above mentioned brothers so I will refer to them as "The couple of [****!!****]"!!! All for the sake of 10 pounds "The couple of [****!!****]" felt it necesary to swindle there way into the ground. As they said they were there on club business this also implicates their club as well...........good one lads!!!

I agree LW!I don't have a pass and never asked for one but i know that there are some people that do that and is simply poor.I was paying a compliment to our Southend Manor friends because they are always nice to me even if understand clubs at our level need every penny.

Club Passes

I would like to have the rule changed on passes as when i go round games to watch opposition i think the managers of ESL clubs should be allowed into any game with use of the pass.

I know clubs are hard up for the cash but it would be fair as managers would be able to go to any of the clubs.

This way giving us Managers a little back in a job that for me i know proves an expensive part time job without no financial help at all from anywhere.

What do you all think?

Perhaps because when they played for us they had the same surname which they still go by in their pay for play mode for the aforesaid Pig Island club!

By the way Boss I was under the impression that visiting official managers get in to ESL games free anyhow. At least they do at the Boro which Litesome should be able to confirm to us all.

I have no problems with a bona fide committee member using their ESL pass to visit another ESL club to watch a game that their own team is not participating in. Although this does impact on the takings of the host club, it is a swings and roundabouts issue. I have done it in the past and always head straight to the bar/snack bar to spend some cash. I always buy a programme in this instance too.

At one Basildon United home game this season, there was a steady stream of people from one club (no names) showing cards stating that they were a committee member of that club. It got to the point that I was mightly impressed that they had such a strong committee until one chap flashed an ESL pass and then not two steps from the gatehouse say to someone else "I've just been given this in the bar."

Is it right that the system should be abused in this way?

everyone should pay to get into every ground....millions of pounds are lost every week at grass roots level as freeloading blazers and assorted hangers on gain free entry to grounds and boardrooms across the country...and the old chesnut of 'spending it after getting in the ground' doesn't wash with me as most of them don't... frown

and to answer TB above...yes I have sympathy for hard working managers at lower levels but their clubs should pay their scouting mission entries...as for comps for untold bigger club scouts managers brothers sisters aunties uncles.....bollox if it was down to me...

the new trend is refs mums dads and assorted tribes with video cameras all getting in buckshee and going in boardrooms....

we even had a useless ref the other week with a number plate...****REF ...

the NL game is in the grip of freeloaders I tell thee.....

kick it out yay
