cash for rebels

appologies if this idea has been mentioned before but thinking about fundraising for stfc

and it has been mentioned that many people perhaps have said that they can afford maybe

a pound or two a week as a regular amount, ive noticed that some clubs operate a lottery

type game where for perhaps a pound a week you get a number which on a weekly draw gets

perhaps half the prize money the other half going to the club, if you manage to get 100

or 200 to sign up it could be a reasonable donation to club.Other clubs operate these

fairly well as do schemes outside of football.people seem keen to sign up to these schemes

as its only a pound and your chances of winning are fairly good over the year. any thoughts

no wonder they say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit,of course i know we have the 50/50 draw i just thought it would be something extra as some clubs do both, and they are easily promoted outside the club because people seem interested in these type of lotterys.

incidently are you the same staines rebel who in the summer said he was having nothing more to do with the club and was thoroughly p----d off

Right, lets not f*uk about with silly idears about getting money into the club with things like 50/50 draws or lotteries etc. where there are overhead costs of tickets and then only half of what is raised goes into the club.

Those who go in for these draws are looking for a return on their money and potentially make a profit!

Those of us who put our hands into our pockets by putting in to either Teds collection at the gate or the Balmy Army through Roger are not looking for a profit, but want to see 100% of the money they cough up go into the future of the club.

Oh and yes I am the same Staines Rebel as you quote, who has only missed 2 games this season due to not being in the country - dont try questioning my commitment to the club!

you had a good day staines rebel grin

ok i wont try and come upwith silly ideas on raising money for the club i did have a few more but ill shut up.

oh and i wasnt questioning your commitment as it seems you give a lot to the club, unfortunately not everyone in this world will give without hope of some sort of prize or something especially outsiders i.e company sponsors.

end of grin

At the end of the day, any fund raising ideas for the club will be seriously considered and performed either through the trust or the club directly. We, as a club, are continually looking for ways of raising revenue and every idea and suggestion will help so that we are not continually relying on the hardcore supporters to dig even deeper.

A BIG THANKS from the Club for all the efforts in raising money however you are doing this ....it is appreciated and before anyone says are we handling it right, all I can say and please get this message over to you all....

The club is you , without you , what would the point be...

so please all remember that we have no one big individual putting money into the club , we are living from a day to day exisitance and everything you do to help is needed and appreciated...we dont have a magic bank account...what ever any one thinks , its a struggle we are all in it together...

and the strength is our support , first and foremost...

cheers chris sliski

personally

Amber Rebel, Slough once had a lottery with someone working on it full time and it raising £30,000 for the club - but the national lottery has put paid to many of these schemes.

I still think the best way to raise cash for the club is through personal contacts - local shops, pubs, companies asking if they'd like to sponsor.
