Most of the teams behind us, if they win there games in hand will over take us in the league.

looks like the title is out of the question, and with the continued poor form, the play offs are unlikely.

what a long cold winter it is going to be

Looked at the table and Wivenhoe appear to be languishing in the basement.

But they have had a horror draw...ETFC is the only Top 10 team they haven't played in their 11 games so far and barring a couple of blowouts against Sudbury and Ware away and a 6-2 loss at home to Redbridge their other scores haven't been all that bad.

A 2-1 loss to Arlsey Town away stands up reasonably well against ETFC's recent 2-2 draw at home.

Should be a pretty good game.. a draw or close win for ETFC.

Canvey Island did beat Wivenhoe Town earlier in the season but their 4 wins (3 away) have been against Northwood (currently 17th), Potters Bar Town (20th), Wivenhoe (22nd) and Aveley (18th).

At the same time while ETFC's 5 wins (3 away) have been against some of the same and similarly ranked clubs Witham (19th), Ilford (21st), Northwood (17th), Aveley (18th) and Waltham Abbey (16th) their form against higher ranked clubs has been superior.

ETFC looks the goods v Canvey Island.

NB

Edgeware Town..top of the table have had an easy run so far only playing 3 teams in the top 9 clubs (they are #1...so have 5 other top 9 teams to play) each win..including that against ETFC was by a goal...all you need I guess.

ETFC have played 5 of top 9 ( they are 6th) so have Dartford, Redbridge and Ware to play.

Doomsayers might be a little premature.

Of course they are premature but it doesn't mean that they are wrong.

There is nearly 3/4 of the season to go. At this stage of the season what good will changing the manager make. A new man will not be able to bring in new players as the players that are any good will be wanting to go to a club with a better chance of honours.

Jim has said that he will consider his position at Christmas if there is no improvement and it seems to me that is reasonable.

We have 10 games between now and christmas. Jim should be thinking of around 25 points if he wants to continue to challenge for the title. Sudbury made the playoffs last year on 70 points. 25 points in the next ten games would give us 44 at little over the halfway stage.

Why do some people always want instant success and cannot wait patiently?
