ESSEX POLICE STATMENT: A bloke has been in a ditch in essex early this morning wearing a billericay town shirt, womens knickers, fishnet stockings & high heals with a dildo up his [****!!****]. The police have removed the shirt to save the family any embassrasment

Was he on his way to the club to get club membership because apathy prevented him doing so at the start of the season?!

Bloke walks into a shop and see's a brass cat statue standing on a display. The said item takes his eye and he goes over to the counter and asks for the price. The shop owner answers £50 for the statue, £50 for the story. The man thinks about this but then decides he'll take the cat without the story and pays over £50. As he walks down the road, he notices he is being followed by a couple of cats. A couple of streets later, he notices that the number of cats following him has grown to about twenty. He starts to think that something is up but continues on his journey. A few more streets down and he notices that the number of cats following him has grown to hundreds...in a panic the man quickly nips down one narrow street to the canal towpath and throws the brass cat into the canal where upon the hundreds of cats following him throw themselves into the canal and drown...

 

Amazed by this, he rushes back to the shop where the owner asks

 

"Have you come to pay for the story?"

 

The man replies

 

"No, I just wonder if you have any brass staues of Chelmsford supporters".

It's not always apathy. I've not bothered in the past 'cos I've been happy to pay full whack in the shop and for admission, and rationalised it that the club is getting more money out of me that way.

Surely it is essentially a loyalty scheme that costs the club money in the long run?

I shall deffo join every year in future though, so I don't have trouble getting tickets when we play Man U at Old Trafford.

If our hardcore of 500 people sign up at the start of the season = 5 grand straight off. A membership of 500 people would be a great selling point to any potential sponsors/advertisers. A membership of 500, what a powerful voice that would be within the club. IMHO, I think it's a little more than just a loyalty scheme.

I agree, Ryan. If those that are wanting to join now thought about it at the beginning of the season, the club would be all the better off for their support.

 

But what is done is done...Membership is available to all during the whole season. Emma picked up a few new members during the last season, right up until March.

I consider myself suitably chastised, and shall always join on the opening day of the season in future. I have joined several times in the past, I've just never busted a gut to do so.
