Errors on Website & in Evening Echo Yesterday

Just a quick post to apologise for the mistake I made yesterday on the website and in the Echo in regards to Season Tickets being used at last nights match. I along with everyone else had assumed that as these matches had always been covered by Season Tickets in the past, that this one would be no different.

 

However, the Essex County FA Handbook does actually say that we have been doing this incorrectly all these years:

 

"Essex County Football Association Cup Rules

 

11. Financial Arrangements

 

SENIOR CUP

(i) Admission

All persons shall pay for admission to the ground, enclosures and stands, unless they are players or officials of the club who are playing in or carrying out duties in connection with the match, Essex County Football Association Officials and any invited guests."

 

Once I was informed of my mistake on the website I corrected it immediately (about 1.30pm), but there was nothing I could do about the Echo.

 

The current board of directors run the club by the book, and as a result have taken us successfully to where we are today. It would have been easy to just say "we've always done it in the past", but this could have got us into a lot of problems with the Essex FA. I know people were not happy with this, but is there in black and white for all clubs to obey.

 

A Fan's Forum has been called for Thursday 8th November at 8pm where everyone will have the opportunity to put questions about this or any other matter to the board and receive an honest answer.
