FA Youth Cup.

I didnt think the game or the performance was that bad. It was admittedly rather scrappy in the first half, but the boys generally defended well against a bigger stronger Northampton team.

Coming out only 1 down at the start of the 2nd half, the boys gave it everything for the next 20-25 minutes and but for a couple of good saves from their keeper and the all too familiar final ball not being quite good enough. Northampton then had a good chance which was missed, but followed up immediately with the 2nd goal and that seemed to take the wind out of our sails and thereafter the boys legs seemed to give out on them, although they fought valiantly to the end (the 3rd goal came 5 minutes from time).

Despite the defeat, the boys should be proud of their efforts - they will almost certainly have learned something from tonights game which will benefit them in the future.

Rob French in goal had a very solid game & Kweshi Ampadu worked tirelessly up front and looks a decent prospect.
