Burnham score

My boys did me proud (I live in Burnham!) smile

Did not play too badly tonight but we were made to pay for sloppy defending. They scored a soft goal midway through the first-half then in the opening stages of the second half Dean Harper forgets to look at the ball and tries to barge Blaize O'Brien off the ball leaving him to slot past Barnard.

In fairness at that stage we were all over the place and it could have been worse. We came back into the game though and Mushiga scores a poachers goal after Attrell's shot was saved by Beames.

Then with near enough the last kick of the game Byron Brian Bubb scores from the edge of the area.

Not a lot in the game, but they are what we need to become at this level - SOLID. No real superstars or no thrills, but a good team base with players such as Bubb, Yarnie and O'Brien who know ho to find the net at this level.

Team: Barnard, Harper, Daly, Browne, Murphy, Robinson, Roddis, Mets, Attrell, Nsubuga, Salaka (Mushiga)

I think 3-1 was a little harsh, 2-1 wouldve been fair i think because we did try and created a few chances, but were playing a better team.

Worst refereeing performance EVER...and I would like to point out that this is NOT a dig at female officials...missing the most obvious offences, picking on the little ones (including 2 yellow cards for handballs which werent exactly deliberate), missing the linesman's offside flag (we lost the ball twice because she didnt blow up for burnham offside) and just generally terrible. Burnham's first goal came from a foul which she missed near the half way line where our player was fouled imo.

Back to the team...we tried but unfortunately didnt quite have the luck...well done to Stan for getting his first Rebels goal, we couldve had one more but again 2-1 wouldve been fair. We did have a goalline scramble early on and a couple of other chances where we worked the keeper and came close.

Unfortunately we did lose Landy (who was playing quite well) to injury in the second half, hence the arrival of Stan, who came on and played well.

Thought Robinson had a good game again, as did Bernard.

Hopefully we can keep building on these chances and eventually the luck will come with it (i hope).

It wasn't terrible, but we struggled really badly without Charles and Jefferies. Landy Salaka is a powerhouse, but needs someone to lay the ball off to. Robinson and Attrell did their best, but both are very lightweight and their passing and crossing were poor tonight. We generally didn't do too badly defensively but are still making simple errors which end up costing us as we don't score many at the other end.

I don't think Burnham are that good a team. It goes to show that you just need to be solid with a bit of quality here and there to do well in this league.

I reckon that for them to get that sort of number there would be probably the majority of our 220 average plus the average 100 that Burnham get, plus a few extras who thought they would take in a local game. Still seems a little high though I must say, I would have said 250.

I'm not overly disappointed with the performance but the problem remains that we rarely if ever look like keeping a clean sheet. We managed Saturday but only because of Barney's great penalty and follow up save and that IOW missed sitters. We don't have any goals in the team so if we win it is always going to be by a narrow low scoring margin. Until we sort ourselves out defensively we are not going to pick up any more points.

im not that disappointed thought we are getting better in this very average league,if burnham are top then it cant be that good ,no disrespect to burnham but they looked very average,

another moan about the programme, many people said they ran out of copies very quickly, not that the proagramme is very good a few photo copied pages with print so small you need a magnifying glass to read it ,full of mistakes, actually printed the slough management team wrong with different names, spelling mistakes,

surely they would know to print more than the usual 30 or so they normally print,1/10 im afraid.

How many times are we going to say that this? "I wasn't very impressed with the opposition but we still lost..."

Yesterday was an improvement of sorts and that team in my view would be a lot stronger if Jeffries, Moleski and Woody were fit and Wilko had played himself. We are slightly unfortunate with injuries at the moment. Any news on when those missing might be able to return to the first team?

The only team I've seen that have really impressed me was Farnborough.

I thought Burnham were solid, but not anything to write home about.

We battled hard in the first half, and I agree with those above, 2-1 would have been the fair result.

I spoke to Woody on Friday, he should be back very soon.
