Glad it's at NL. Why the early K.O. ?

The welsh police made a strong recommendation that the date be changed to either Friday or Sunday as Cardiff travel to Charlton and Bristol are at Ipswich that same Saturday.

 

We resisted the date change, and a 12 noon K/O, and settled for 1pm.

Which was a result under the circumstances.

I take its the police who have insisted on this soppy time

 

On the plus side their is no early ko in the premiership that Saturday increasing the chances of radio coverage 9k for the whole game, 4.5k for 45 mins and 2,250 for 24 mins

3000?? I take it the police have reduced the capacity then as well as putting the kick off at a soppy time as according to wikipedia and my copy of the non league directory 2007 the capacity is 3,500 as well as charging a fair whack to sit around watch game, scratch [****!!****] and drink coffee

Not at all c'mon, security within the ground is the clubs responsibility, the police will only levy a charge if they are called into the ground. The Police are responsible for policing outside, and before you ask, yes, they will have a decent presence in and around Blunts Wall Road.

 

There will be police in the ground but they are not the local Bobby's and there is no charge.

Regardless of the Capacity,Price,Police, or the amount of coffee drunk, We have done very well to keep it at home.

The Echo Online is reporting that Swansea will get 1,000 tickets, and that both clubs will receive £13,000 for MOTD highlights.

We are hoping for MOTD highlights, but have no idea who its going to be, my understanding is that it will be announced in a day or two.

Lets hope the Echo have some inside info and they have this right.

 

Swansea will be allocated 750 tickets. But, if our sales are not as expected, then they will be offered more.

Given how worried some of us (ie me) were that the police would make it difficult to host the game at NL at all, 1pm on the Saturday is a result. Capacity of 3000 is no suprise really, I think 3500 would only be feasible if there were no segregation which I assume will not be the case for this game. The TV thing is a little disappointing, however the most important thing is that we put on a good show on and off the pitch so some of those people who are coming down for the first time, or the 1st for a while, have a good afternoon and maybe come back!

That's great news for you lads, at NL, 3000, the correct move.

Needs a lot of thought but you are correct Simon, everyone will be watching, and your chance to bring in more fans.

Can you give us an idea of how many tickets will be on sale for the Billericay faithful, on the basis that the limit is 3000, less 750 for Swansea, less season ticket holders and club members?

Wonderful news all. I wondered whether they may make it earlier k.o. but to be honest who gives a duck ! We have drawn the third best supported team and the occasion will be special. On the day it is 50-50. To many folk we will be expected to be beaten comfortably but that is the beauty of the cup. We will have an extrememly vocal support - But the lads will know that anyway.

 

So - WELL DONE to you TC et al for making this the dream come true and being able to stage this at our place.

 

Just a side issue, will our bar be open for business as usual on matchday ?

Absolutely fabulous that “The Management” have created the right facilities at New Lodge to stage such a match as this at HOME it’s a great reward for your efforts – many congratulations to you TC & Co. For those of us who have patiently waited 10, 20 or 30+ years for this it’s a dream come true and one I’m sure were looking to enjoy with another ’ricay win!

 

My only concern with the big games at New Lodge is that too many people come just to watch and not support and get behind the team. We need to recreate the Melbourne Park and Hayes Lane experience from the end of last year – it will make a big, big difference. Keith P and Ian Blockhead now’s your opportunity to revitalise and expand the Blue Army Male Voice Choir. Will there be choir practice tonight at Ship Lane??

Well at Hayes Lane their must have been approaching 1k Ricay their so many of those would be big game only supporters and the atmosphere was immense that day so I cant see it being a problem tbh I mean its FAC 1st round against a football league side how can the casual big gamer onlyers not turn up and join in what will be an awesome atmosphere

I Dont think there will be too many problems with creating the special Blue Army atmosphere. However, (imo) what would be really special is just for once......The "Anthem" could be sung on all sides of the ground that we occupy that day Now THAT would be SPECIAL
