I can understand the Hereford Leeds match, but where is the appeal for the average viewer watching Torquay Yeovil (no disrespect meant to those clubs - but other than it being a local derby - it doesn't have the feel of a cup tie). There were other games I thought might beat us, but this one is a shocker.

 

I wonder if it was just too much like hard work to set us up for it. Thanks for supporting grass roots football Mr BBC!

I would assume that a commercial decision was made and that they conclude Torquay Yeovil will pull a bigger audience.

Yeah, but the BBC always go on about how they don't have to pull large audiences, due to the unique way in which they're funded.

 

Of course, we all know this doesn't stop them chasing them.

Perhaps Lineker and company can stop talking b*llox about the so called "romance of the cup" and start talking "commercial planning" alongside "veiwing figures".

Bizarre decision by the beeb as although Yeovil are a football league side they have only been a football league side for 5 years or so ad it coul be argued that Torquay are infact a bigger club.

 

Also Yeovil's and Torquay's combined attendances fall several thousand short of Swansea's and I am sure our game would also attract a large audience from Cariff and Yeovil (as far as I am aware) do not really have a rivalry with a club anywhere near the size of Cardiff so a thoroughly bizarre decision on the part of the beeb.

That's a blow because the money would have come in very handy.

 

It's a bizzarre decision by the BBC and you wonder how it was arrived at.....

 

Nevertheless we shouldn't get downhearted, it's still gonna be a fantastic day for the club and who knows.....

Highlights 13k FA site does not say how long the highlights have to be but surely our game as to be one of the main games on the highlight show but I am sure the BBC will edit the highlights so that it ends a few seconds before having to hand over any cash tight fisted [****!!****]

 

Radio 5 Live 9k full game 4,500 45 mins 2,250 24 mins Should be the main game on the radio surely but as they will be chopping and changing around the grounds it will probably 4.5k
