Aggro at Chav Town!

violent scenes at Sewardstone Road left referee Lloyd Wood with no choice but to abandone the game after 75 minutes.

Tilbury had the perfect opportunity to take the lead when Luke Stanley's cross was handled in the area but the resultant penalty was saved by Abbey keeper John Hickman

Following that incident, the home side took the lead against the run of play when Dean Perry netted. However things took a turn for the worse in the second half when a scuffle involving Abbey's Marc Sontag and Tilbury's Lloyd Anthoney sparked a mass brawl.

Anthoney was red carded after striking Sontag who's brother Lee was also then red carded for joining in.

referee Wood attempted to get the game back underway but following a further violent alercation in the tunnel involving the red carded players and supporters, he abandoned the game. Abbey will keep the points.

Apparently Sontag and a fan beat up the Tilbury player in the dressing room!!!

How come Abbey get 3 pts ??? In circumstances like this the game should be awarded as a draw, but neither team gets points. If anything both teams should be deducted points for failing to control their players/supporters.

That doesn't quite make sense..You lead 1-0 then player gets sent off, has a fight in tunnel, ref abandonds the game and you still get the 3 points??? confused.com

Sureley no matter if you are winning, losing or drawing, if the ref has had to abandoned the game due to a club &/or clubs player failing to control themselves then the club should be punished and not even given the 3 points if they were winning.

What sort of message does this send out to clubs???

Don't wish to single out Abbey (indeed Boro have always had a good relationship with them) but I do recall on my first visit there a guy in plain clothes (i.e. not football kit)wandering around on the pitch at half time swiging from a beer bottle completley unchallenged.

This is not just an Abbey problem though. Games at this level being abandoned because of Aggro are becoming more common. You have used the word "Chav" and I think it is indeed an example of the ever increasing "Chav" type country we live in which has been made worse over recent years by the namby pamby Blair style.

ZERO TOLERANCE I SAY!

BRING BACK MAGGIE!

I seem to remember a visit there a few seasons back in the esl days, we lost 2-0 if memory serves me correct..but things didn't go our way (not for the 1st time) and at the final whistle a 'supporter' who was standing in the town end (who had never been seen before this game & has never been seen since) ran onto the pitch to confront the ref & lino...I cant help but to think he was a scabby servant intent on causing trouble.

In the same game there was some 'friendly' banter between the 2 sets of supporters until something was said and the scabby rent a crowd for the day contingent asked if we'd like to settle this argument outside.

And I wouldn't do that to my dear old friend steph anyway. All i ever do is ram Mr trappys claptrap back down his throat and yours too when you get my back up and piss me off,eh mate.
