We played them in the summer and lost 2-0 in a dissapointing performance. Think Chris Hardy is playing for them.

good stuff, hope the rehab goes well m8!

Quite a comfortable win on saturday to be fair, wen u play sides near the bottom, their heads tend to go wen u concede a goal, happened with us against brimmo and chalfont this season, and we scored our 1st and 2nd in quick succession. Notched another pen. haha. Tony Burke scored twice with 2 great finishes! Need to string a few more wins together but the shape and work rate is a lot better then in recent weeks!

Apart from you guys on the 6th, we have games against teams around us, so its an important month!

Hows Chris Hardy's knee, he had a lot of problems with it that year at Hertford didnt he?

Ha Ha, he broke his nose back end of last season and was having the op back in August I think.

Buntingford got to the FA Youth Cup 2nd Round proper in 2005/2006 before losing narrowly to Brentford at Braemer Road and would have gone on to meet Arsenal, they have retained a lot of those players and are going places. Be afraid, be very afraid.

No need to waste 45p on the Islington Gazette on Thursday folks, you can read it here first:

Saturday 27 October 2007
Spartan South Midlands League Division 1
Kentish Town 2 Brache Sparta 1

Luton based Brache Sparta started the proceedings the more positive and missed an early opportunity when a forward headed just wide from close range giving Town an early fright. Town were struggling to find their feet early on against a tall, strong, tough tackling and well drilled Sparta outfit and they had the ball in the net after ten minutes only for the effort to be chalked off for offside. A Sparta cross then went right across goal evading both strikers and defenders giving Town yet another fortunate escape.
Town were still creating very little as the game approached the half hour mark against the giant back line who seemed far more suited to Grid Iron however the game began to turn when the on form Jonathan Donoghue found himself through on goal only to shoot wide, although a linesman’s flag appeared to be raised. Donoghue then found himself in on goal again and skilfully took the ball down in one movement to send a screaming shot just over the bar.
The teams went in scoreless at the interval with Sparta ahead on points however the game turned dramatically on the 49 minute mark when Lee Scott found himself in acres of space on the right flank and raced in on goal to beat the goalkeeper comfortably with the flat footed defence unable to get a tackle in. Town suddenly had the bit between their teeth and three minutes later they earned a free kick some 25 yards from goal, elegant midfielder Paul Butler claimed the ball and sent a rasping low drive towards goal which the Sparta keeper could only poke at before it entered the net much to Town’s delight.
With Town seemingly in full control they introduced Thomas Looney who has spent most of the season so far on the sidelines however shortly afterwards disaster struck when Sparta pulled a goal back on 72 minutes. There appeared to be little danger when full back James Dixon appeared unannounced on the left and unleashed a fierce drive which caught out the defence and evaded debutante keeper Sam McMullen who was one of three brothers in Town’s line up and who, up until that point, had stopped everything that had been thrown at him.
The goal set up a nerve tingling finale and was Sparta’s cue to throw everything but the kitchen sink at Town with the game becoming very physical at times, Shaka Cole was sent flying into touch with one particularly robust tackle. To Town’s great credit they weathered the storm and kept their frustrated opponents at bay for the remainder of the pulsating contest to keep their promotion push well on track.
Town are back at their palatial Copthall Stadium surroundings on Saturday when they entertain Buckingham Athletic, kick off 3.00, and then travel to table topping Hoddesdon Town on Tuesday, kick off 7.45.

Town Team: S McMullen, S Nicolaou, B McMullen, Thomas Kanaris, T McMullen, Cole, Fofana, Dowsett, Scott, Donoghue, Butler.
Subs: Zanre, Barkat, A Nicolaou, D Dawson, Looney

From Luton on Sunday:

SML DIVISION ONE

KENTISH TOWN 2

BRACHE SPARTA 1

BRACHE were left cursing their luck after a string of missed first half chances ended up costing them dear.

With ten first team players missing through injury and other commitments they fielded a patched up side and it showed with a below par performance.

Despite that Brache had the better of the first half. James Ingram was the biggest culprit behind the 0-0 half-time scoreline - he twice failed to trouble the keeper with free headers inside the area.

Sparta did have the ball in the net through Edwin Leslie but it was ruled out for offside.

Then against the run of play on 50 minutes Kentish Town broke and scored. Three minutes later they made it two with help from Brache keeper Diego Vasquez who fumbled over the line.

James Dickson pulled one back with a scrambled goal on 76 minutes but the onslaught never came and the game slipped away.

AWK - Thanks for this, if they had ten first team players missing on Saturday then the Championship is all over bar the shouting as they were by far the best team we have faced all season

A report on this one from Cheshunt's Website, if they can't beat Winslow United at home I think they can be ruled out as serious promotion contenders:
