First match I've seen since early September... first league win I've seen at home since... well, probably March. And far and away the best I've seen us play this season and probably since 2006.

Seeds especially scored two cracking goals, one the best header I've ever seen from him, and apart from falling for their offside trap too often (helped by some really odd-looking calls) I can't think of anything we did wrong. A pity we conceded one late goal but Mazza pulled off some cracking saves and didn't look at fault on the one that got away...

 

One of those games it was a real pleasure to watch, and we never looked anything but deserved winners.

(4-1 for anyone not there... Coops and Chennels also headed in).

Yes but...

It was a great afternoon's entertainment. Some excellent goals - especially Seeds' second, superb wing play from Jon and Joe (and Terry and Ryan), great perfomances from M. Williams (there's only one M. Williams!) and Sam.

At one point Hillingdon's manager shouted at the ref: "There's two teams out there". He was wrong. There was one team and one shambles - Hillingdon were awful.

So why did we only win 4-1? If it hadn't been for Sam's saves they might have got back into the game. I don't like to complain after our best result of the season so far, but we should have been in double figures - and we shouldn't be letting in silly goals!
