Thanks matey, appreciate that. As you all know I very rarely go to away games these days, but I do get told of the prices that are charged elsewhere. We did put some of our prices up this Season, but only to cover the cost of what we are being charged to buy stock in now.

In actual fact at the Youth FA Cup game last Wednesday several of the customers that night commented on how cheap our prices were. One guy even asked if we had any Beer!!! beer2

I believe that we do give Value for Money in the "JETS HANGAR TEA BAR" and we always will. Our Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate/Bovril/Soup are still only 50p and our Sandwhiches only 80p. As far as I am concerned we are a Family Club, and people with kids don't wanna get ripped off.

I remember my dear mate Clive Butterfield who used to come to Goldsdown Road with his brood of 5 little un's he could get each of them a drink, crisps & sweets for £1.00.

My motto if it's too dear don't buy it, better still take ur own we used to in the ESL as some clubs did'nt even have a tea bar open.

Hear endeth todays lesson!!!!! cry applause2

The poor lady serving yesterday served every cup of tea with the phrase "sorry, I only work here" I asked her why she kept saying it and she replied "so everyone knows I dont have anything to do with the pricing"!

Best tea bar & definatly best tea bar staff in the league at the Town!!!

Gill says the tea over here in the hotel is awful! You want to try the other hot drinks!

Ask for a coffee and you get coffee. Ask for a cappucino and you get the same coffee. Ask for a hot chocolate and you get..... the same coffee!

Mind you, the drinks out in the bars are fine.

Talking of Drinks from the Bar -

Brentwood sold cans of larger to their supporters before the game.

These supporters then drank larger throughout the game in their corner area behind the goal.

I though the drinking of alchoholic drinks ( with a view of the game ) was banned by the FA.

Can anyone confirm ?

Another game, another set of supporters and there could be trouble at Brentwood.

I was albe to buy beers in plastic cups away at Maldon. It was very pleasent to have a drink whilst watching the game. They do it at rugby matches so why not at football matches. If someone is going to get so lashed that they are going to get into a fight then they will do it anyway.

There is a Rule No 213 in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds that states " Alcohol should not be on sale for consumption on the terraces or in the stands"

We comply to this at Goldsdown Road, why don't other clubs. Mind you we do have Safety Stewards other grounds do not!

You will also find that the Rules regarding the sale or consumption of Alcohol is even stricter for FA Cup Games.
