We'd have played....

Eventually ... we'd have been in the final.

I think we should do what Man Utd did a few years ago & decide the FA Cup isn't worth entering. No team we assemble seems to think getting into the 1st round is important, so why not save us poor mugs of supporters all the agony of deflated hopes & pointless dreams?

Harry, you weren't there, how can you possibly report on it... wink grin

The Carlilse match was postponed 5 times because of the weather, but it wasn't tha last match to be played. That was Lincoln v Coventry which was eventually played on March 7th after 15 postponements.

In all. including replays, there were 261 postponements in that year's third round.

I was there for the draw at home, when Brian Skingley(Or so he claimed), scored the tying goal. It was so muddy, you couldn't recognise your own Mother, let alone the players!
The reporter carried a cartoon the next week, stating the mud from the Jersies, was used to build up the Swanscombe End terracing..............I don't doubt there was some truth in that claim! grin

Ist round Saturday could be used as a marketing drive by the club. Why don't they go back into the town centre to promote the club. Again fans could turn up wearing shirts to increase awareness. Perhaps a couple of players could turn up. I know we did it a couple of months back but it needs to be a regular thing a la Charlton. It can't do no harm can it???
