The "Two Sides" album by the Mock Turtles is absolutely brilliant. A great collection of early-90's indie/pop. I would imagine the "Greatest Hits" (or as Thornsy mentioned on a separate thread, "The Best Of.." would be a better title) will be a very strong collection of songs.

"And Then She Smiles" and to a lesser extent "Strings & Flowers" were also quality singles by the band that boasts Steve Coogan's brother as their singer/guitarist.

Yes but greatest hits implies that they were indeed hits.

To my knowledge, the only hit was indeed 'Can U Dig It' which reached the giddy heights of number 19!

(No doubt the re-issue 'thanks' to vodafone will chart higher.)

Thornsy is indeed correct with his 'best of' choice of words.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling the re-issue went in at 19 yesterday too. "And Then She Smiles" was number 40-something back in Summer 1991, off the top of my head. "Strings And Flowers" failed to chart, although I still own it on 7" single!!

Off to see them at the Mean Fiddler on March 26th!!
