Just that the FA were looking into the formation of a step 6 ESL second division in conjunction with the ESL, and Essex Olympian League and Essex & Suffolk Border League as they were not happy that there was a big potential promotional gap between the two latter step 7 leagues and the step 5 ESL which resulted in the entry of new clubs like MS&P from nowhere without having to work their way up the system over a period of years like they do mostly in the North of England!

Hope that the above ecapsulates it correctly!

The best way of getting two divisions for the ESL immeadiately, is to merge with the Kent League (call it Thameside League) and create two leagues of seventeen teams.

The plan to create an ESL2 by bringing in clubs from the EOL and the E&SBL will take years due to ground restrictions.

there are good enough clubs in the EOL and Suffolk border to form a division at step 6.merging with kent is a non starter unless they build a bridge from canvey smile

even on a saturday you are asking players and officials to cross that bridge twice at busy times like shopping hours on saturday.too much travelling as well.it's called ESL and should include ALL clubs in Essex. We have enough clubs in Essex and the FA should enforce that.Stanway,Tiptree,Saffron Walden,Clacton,Halstead,YOU ARE ALL IN ESSEX! hump

if they don't like it,chuck them out of the county.make them play the suffolk or norfolk cup,and not the essex one!

this league has been victim of their own success.there is an endless list of clubs that have been promoted and moved up the echelons of NL footie.Bury and sudbury have been in the comfort zone for years.give Caesar what belong to Caesar!the essex sides at step 5! smile

It's been successful over the years, but the quality of the clubs is dwindling. Crap like Mauritious do more harm to the league than anything else. If Clacton et al were to come over, there would be a lot more competition. Though some of those clubs may be in Ridgeons 2 at the moment, Clacton surely wouldn't be far from the top of ESL.
