Cup game last night in the 1st leg of the Grant McLennan Cup.

 

Dorking went a goal up, which we should of defended alot earlier but allowed a cross to come in and the big Dorking striker got up to head the ball past me in to the corner.

 

We reacted well to the goal and within 5minutes we were level and for the rest of the first half we were in control and all I really had to deal with was a one-on-one which I did well with and a couple of long shots which didnt really cause me much trouble.

 

After the break the game became much more even but we started playing with alot more width and 10 minutes into the half we went ahead as I put in our winger from a kick and he did very well to put a great ball into the area for my best mate to knock the ball in from a yard out.

 

But once again we lost concentration after scoring and the Dorking players were having to much time on the ball on the edge of the box and we paid for it as one of the players hit a shot from 25 yards out that didnt really trouble me but i dived to my right expecting an easy take and the ball hit a hole on the edge of the 6 yards box and went about 4 foot in the air and over me into the net.

 

Droking nearly got a winner in the second half from a header that was well saved on the post.

 

So its over to Dorking for the second leg on 5th November, will you be there JR?

Anyone notice Raynes Park Vale under 18's beat Woking's academy side 2-0 last Monday?

Or how about Camberleys Under 18's beating Carshlaton's 3-0 (should have been 6 or 7 but for some excellent keeping) in the FA Youth Cup to earn a home tie against Millwall in the 1st Round Proper?

Is it being played at Meadowbank Fizzer? If so, I might be tempted to wander round for that. Always fun to give stick to the away keeper

As for being Cantona - surely you would play the Schmeichel role, remonstrating with the crowd after the incident and getting a cup of tea chucked over him
