Braintree's new Manager

???? thats like saying how do you sign flacky , or hockton , anyone else...the budget is for a squad...you pay extra for attackers you'll be short in midfield and defence...you get a keeper who's great, but up front your strikers cant hit a cows [****!!****] with a banjo...its all a toss up

thats a fair point but I'd be very surprised if Flacky or Hockton would command as much salary as Holdsworth, who is ex premiership after all.

Anyhow it really is academic and I dont want to start sounding like our friends from down the road

well swifty me old china from what i know there is enough money to be in the top half. heybridge may not have the biggest budget but i bet its not too different to billericays playing budget. difference is matt jones brought in decent players from lower leagues and got them playing like ryman prem players. heybridge took half of a poor wivenhoe side!

From who...I think you are wrong swift, why would his name be linked to the vacant position at Braintree if he receives no recognition?

ahhh...illuminaries such as yourself can see it, i was speaking more of the guys who populate the meaasge bords with topics such as $wit$ sign so and so...and smallsy...i have no idea of either clubs budget, so i cant comment, surfice to say that i think a decision was made to go with a bigger squad earlier this season as injuries cost us a lot last season...maybe the squad still has some trimming to go

yer to be honest TC just saying it how i see it. seems to be a good blend of younger lower league players with older players from higher leagues.

swift i want to see heybridge do well as reasonably local to myself and i played for burnham ramblers for a few years so often kept track on the swifts.

i also had a friend who started the season with swifts so i came to watch a few games (charlton/witham and couple more)

Good luck to Lee, whenever I've spoken to him he seemed like a decent bloke. He's done well at East Thurrock. It'll be interesting to see how he approaches the challenge at Braintree as he did seem to favour the "well-travelled" player route at ETU.

some would call it experience jl.

A good appointment and he does like to use a bit of colourful language on the bench so not much different from Borg in that respect. Be interesting to see if Borg takes over at East Thurrock now
