That was a whole lot better

Up until we scored it was a bit scrappy, but we were still the better side and looked more likely to winning and as soon as we went 1-0 up we played some good football right up until the end. The defence were a lot better today and Louis Smith definately deserved his MOTM award today, he passed the ball well and done everything that he had to do with no problems. Side, Jacko, Standen, Skinner and Haworth also had very good games, whilst everyone else gave in a good solid performance.

We wanted it more today and we thoroughly deserved our 3-1 win and we were unlucky not to score more IMO.

My only moan about today was the attendance, which was very poor.

Also have to say the Aylesbury supporters that were there moaned about everything to do with out club, which was not getting food which were for the supporters, paying £2 to sit in the stand (fair point), our ground as a whole and saying that we were not that good.

Who cares we won today fair and square and after todays performance, with a bit more work we can go out and beat our other bogey side Heybridge on Saturday.

Good performance tonight. A league below us yes, but Aylesbury are no different to a few of the teams in our league and for us it's all about confidence. Once we got the 1st goal we always looked like we'd win at a canter and so it proved.

Louis Smith looked far more composed than he has done all season. Dean Standen brought an edge to the midfield that we have really missed since he's been out. And we won the battles all over the pitch. Skins got forward all the time and supported Jacko. Charley got forward on his wing and supported the front men, and took his first goal brilliantly. Rob worked hard as usual and caused them problems, held the ball up really well as usual.

Overall much better, and hopefully Trotty has some luck securing players for his three target areas, centre back, right back and right midfield as he said in today's Thanet Times.

Agree those are the 3 positions we need extra quality-hopefully right midfield is a proper midfield player-not a winger type player.

We miss Abbo in that position, but the one bit of bad luck RT has had this season was with Yiannis injury which would have covered it;although there again, that was known in August and here we are almost November talking about replacing him.Looks like Peters can do the job short term.

Central defender is almost desperate though, despite possible improvements in last couple of games against lower league opposition.

I cant agree that Smith was m.o.t.m & thats got nothing to do with my thoughts on him being our weakest link. With Jay at the back & Young alongside Smith did indeed have a much better game,I wont deny that & it was nice to see him moving forward at times too but lets understand here that Aylesbury were a poor side tonight & generally didn't cause our defence any problems whatsoever. There were no speedy outside men for the defence or Smith to contend with so we have to take that into account.

I agree we DO still need that right full back to come in.

Jay was faultless tonight.Absolutely faultless!. My m.o.t.m by a long long way. Whilst we would all prefer to see him in our midfield he does more than play well in that central defensive role. His good form there certainly seems to rub off on those others around him in defence & that certainly showed & proved to be the case tonight.

Deano played with his usual "bite" in midfield & it helps the team,no doubt about that, but he was looking like getting a red for his over enthusiasm at times. Was putting himself about which is a good thing but more often that not was tackling like a madman. He does need to be a bit more controlled in his tackling in certain situations rather than just throw himself into every tackle like he does. What a relief to see him taken off,but only to save us being a further man short in future games. He certainly does worry people at times.

A better all round performance from the team, still not firing on all cylinders & sometimes looking very ordinary but much improved, but again the opposition were very poor tonight. We won this game very very comfortably indeed & the victory was never in doubt.

The only one worthwhile shot I think they had all game was their goal as far as I can remember.
