Saga holiday indeed!

We both felt very young at the weekend when at least 200 young freedom fighters from the Spanish Civil War decended on our hotel. Spanish Civil War - 1936 ish.

 

You should have heard the noise and seen the pushing ad shoving. It reminded me of the rugby on the telly!

 

It appears that Spanish oaps get subsidised holidays and decend on Mallorca from the mainland towards the end of the season to fill hotels. It just so happened that they decided to fill ours!

 

Any postings such as ýou were in good company´, etc will be dealt with on my return.

 

Steph. It is cold but we went on a 15 km bike ride today to warm up. That´s ábout 10 miles to those who know nothing about metric things.

What sort of example are you setting to the Town players?Is it a coincidence that half the team went AWOL after discovering you had booked a week away?

Good news today. It´s not cold. Bad news - it´s throwing it down with rain and we have a sheduled fire alarm evacuation at 11.30am today!

Notice that my time away coincides with three away game so that the number of stewards needed at a home game doesn´t go below three, as per the last two home games.

Diaries from Mallorca.

 

Wednesday - Got attacked by every flying bug going and need a constant supply of Piriton.

 

Thursday - Went to Palma and enjoyed 45 minutes on the bottom deck of an open topped bus and had a guided tour of the city.

 

Spent the next 45 minutes on the top deck in the glorious sunshine and decided to go round again. Lovely time seeing the sites and having fun.

 

Then the heavens opened! Saw an old man with a long white beard with a lot of animals in a wooden boat go by. Talk about rain! It was 10 times worse than when we played Leyton a few years ago.

 

Managed to get back to the bus station to get the 5.00pm bus. At least 55 people were in front of us. Guess what the maximum capacity of the coach was? 55! Waited for an hour and eventually got back to find that the Mallorcan Open Darts Championships had been booked into the hotel. I am sure I saw Jockey Wilson at the Ockey!

 

Must go at it looks like it may be sunny for some part of the day.

 

Well done to the Youth team and good luck to all in the quiz this evening.

Diaries from Enfield/Papworth

 

Thursday:

Covered early shift as favour for colleague left Papworth 0345hrs reached work 0422hrs so 37mins, taking 2mins of previous record.

 

Left work 1755hrs reached home 2020hrs so 2hrs 25mins!! due to Bullsmoor Lane being shut, even though I dont use Bullsmoor Lane, but still didnt beat previous record of 2hrs 40mins a couple of weeks ago!

 

Friday:

Had very nice subway club sarnie for lunch.....

err... thats about as exciting as it gets so think your better off there Dad with the other war hero's.

Just about to polish up the fazer ZR2 ready for tomorrow's Hobbs Cross Open.

The good news is that only 150 Spanish Volunteers came for the weekend´s entertainment. The bad news is that another 50 darts players turned up.

 

Went for a brisk 6 mile walk this afternoon. Ususally do it on a Saturday morning with a bag of golf clubs!

 

Having a good time and looking forward to having an extra hour in bed tomorrow morning.

Nice way to finish off the holiday. 5 and a half hour flight delay! 14 hours from start to finish to get from Majorca. I could have walked quicker.
