3. Dependant on attendance and how many we have left over
Yes you have come up with an excellent idea here, congratulations, I would certainly be interested in purchasing such a book. Can you keep me closely informed.

As everyone knows we were expecting a crowd of between 70 and 80 on Saturday due to information supplied by Eagles1981 however we were left badly let down, disappointed and out of pocket as we got in a lot of extra food knowing that Portuguese people like their grub and appreciate the finer things in life, we are considering sending the bill for the food wasted to Sport London e Benfica c/o their greasy spoon in the Harrow Road.

Alliance Boy is another member I have difficulty working out, he seems to be a wind up merchant similar to Youngngifted and rarely, if at all, posts anything about the SSML. They both registerred within five days of each other in September and I don't think that's coincidence, it wouldn't surprise me if they are the same person.

is there any member you dont have difficulty working out?
must be something to do with your association with all
those council estate people...clouds your judgement
your youngngifted assumption is way off...as usual

mind you, with all the publicity you achieve especially in the east you will get the occasional outburst

TheSpursFan - I don't know how you do it but you always seem to be able to read people like a book, see through them from a mile away and hit the nail slap bang on the head, that's quite a gift.

I didn't know what you served up! Now I know what you mean by "banquet fit for a king" ... water cress sandwiches! Expect the same in return.

Not even tea was offered for the management or boardroom hospitality either! José had to buy his own!

Jose only needed to ask and we would have given him a drink on the house, there was no need for him to pay himself but he seemed happy to. Your Committee seemed far too busy at half time getting embroiled in heated arguments with spectators to worry about hospitality and using colourful language in front of young children, again they only needed to ask if they wanted a cup of tea in the boardroom and some custard creams.

Rhodes - it goes something like this - the "greeter" (you, I suspect in the case of KTFC, identifies the visiting committee members before the game, and tells them where to go at halftime for their complimentary hot drink and biscuits. It's easy.

Yes but the Committee, all two of them, didn't seem to be particularly interested and didn't even want a programme when they came in, I tried my best to press their flesh as normal but they simply didn't want to know so what more could I do.

I thought members would like to see our press report from Saturday which bears no ill feeling or biase whatsoever, I stand by my comments that Kentish Town were very humble in victory to the point of being embarrassed. I look forward to reading our opponents match report in due course:

Saturday 10 November 2007

Spartan South Midlands League Division 1

Kentish Town 1 Sport London e Benfica 0

Following Town's inspired 2-1 midweek win at promotion rivals Hoddesdon Town it was plain from the outset that Sport London e Benfica would be a tough nut to crack and so it proved in what was a bruising and often scrappy encounter.

Town started well and created a number of early openings which raised eyebrows in the opposition camp who were clearly used to having things their own way. Town almost took an early lead in spectacular circumstances as a high bounce caught the goalkeeper off guard and the ball sailed over his head and seemingly over the line only for Referee Mr Hart to allow play to continue, the ball came out to Jonathan Donoghue who was unable to convert from close range with the ball going wide off a post.

Benfica then showed how dangerous they can be on the break by creating two good scoring opportunities in quick succession, one of which saw the ball enter the net, however on both occasions a linesmans flag indicated a player had strayed offside much to Benfica's frustration. The game was end to end at this point midway through the first period without the goalkeepers being properly tested, Town won a free kick on the edge of the box however specialist Paul Butler was unable to deliver and the ball sailed high and wide.

The game began to get a little physical for Mr Hart's liking and he needed eyes in the back of his head at times, a crude challenge on Town's debutante Mark Doyle went unpunished with the player needing lengthy treatment.

As the players returned to their dressing rooms for the interval with the score goaless a flare up occurred with one or two punches being thrown and the visiting Chairman became involved in an argument with spectators, this wasn't totally unexpected however with so much riding on the result.

Town took the lead shortly after the restart on 48 minutes when they were awarded a free kick some 25 yards from goal. With no apparent danger Thomas Looney stepped up to the mark and saw his shot enter the net following a fumble by the visiting goalkeeper.

Town then immediately introduced South American Javier Rivera for his home bow in place of Shaka Cole who was feeling unwell following an excellent first period, Rivera immediately stamped his authority and experience on the proceedings with some silky skills and a 40 yard run out of defence almost produced a goal with his shot going just wide. The goal had come at a crucial time for Town with the visitors being forced to come out and try to dictate play however the back line of Quattromini, Kanaris and McMullen coped comfortably with what was thrown at them and keeper Paul Williamson saw very little of the ball.

Town introduced Bradley Newall for the injured Doyle who had done well to last so long following his first half injury. The tireless Kelfala Fofana was unlucky when embarking on a foray deep into the Benfica half with Town now in command. With minutes remaining debutante Russell Brown was introduced for Lee Scott who for once did not find himself on the score sheet, Brown almost converted with his first touch when shooting just wide as the Referee put the whistle to his lips to signal the end of the proceedings and a hard fought three points for Town.

Town travel to the outskirts of Milton Keynes on Saturday to take on New Bradwell St Peter, kick off 3.00.

Town Team: Williamson, Looney, R Quattromini, Kanaris, T McMullen, Cole, D Dawson, Fofana, Scott, Donoghue, Doyle.

Subs: Rivera, Brown, Onuoha, Newall, Jarzabek

Correction: Check your facts first! I suggest you edit this and appologise accordingly for your mistake.

The SLB Chairman wasn't at the game! This I know because I was with him on Saturday, in Lisbon, getting treatment for a back condition he has!

The club will be looking out for any future libelous statements appearing in printed or web-based material produced by your club!
