Danny Slatter

F*ck. An honest and hard-working player who adds something in defence and attack. I hope he gets offered a deal for next season, I think Daish likes Slatts and I'd be sad to see him go due to this injury.

Also, the regular physio updates on the site are excellent, much better than the verdicts from 'reliable sources' in the Plough End. Keep them going!

I hope so, as I've said before I think he should be given a chance at some stage, he's got the attacking flair of DeBolla (and the long-range shooting) and the tenacity and work-rate of Slatter so I think a recall would be a good idea. hasn't he been recalled along with Purcell anyway though?

... or more understandable as it frees up some of the wage bill if we need to sign a right sided attacking player as we have no-one other than McPhee.

And before anyone says what about Luke Moore - does anyone really think he looks comfortable in that position?

Should be working fine, Bill. No problems that I know of, but story is as follows:

Quote:

Ebbsfleet United midfielder Danny Slatter has had keyhole surgery on his knee but the procedure has shown a tear to his anterior crutiate ligament. Unfortunately the only course of action for this type of injury is for Slatter to undergo an operation to reconstruct the ligament, ruling the former Welling player out for the remainder of this season. Slatter, who is only six games shy of his 100th appearance for the Fleet, was the next in line for that milestone after Paul McCarthy's 100th game against Burton Albion, but the Welshman will now have to wait until the 2008-09 season to attain that prize.

In other news from the Fleet treatment room, skipper McCarthy - who sustained an achilles injury - is progressing well and has been jogging to regain his fitness. Chukki Eribenne suffered a slight setback with his hamstring injury against Droylsden but is improving each day and is not too far away from a full return. And Gary MacDonald is now well into his rehab programme and has been working hard in the swimming pool over the last week. As a result he has been able to step up his jogging and strength work in a bid to enter the next phase of his fitness programme.

From the report (which as someone has said is an excellent addition to the site), McCarthy and Eribenne look doubtful for Saturday ? If both are out and with Hawkins and Bostwick suspended we will be down to the bare bones:

Ricketts, Smith, Goodhind,Opinel

McPhee, Barret, Long, Purcell

Nade and Moore

Inclusion of Liam Coleman somewhere is the only likely option ?

Lets hope Chukki and/or McCarthy make it or else if we pick up few injuries during the game we may be in the pooh.

Not all lost yet, I hope, there is one right sided player who has appeared in the programme several times played all the preseason games and started the season, but for some reason gave way to others?

His past reads pretty well, Arsenal trained, 2 1/2 years in Crystal Palace reserves as centre back, midfield and right back. Where is he?

All the best to Slatter

Eddy, I agree, it would be good to involve Starkey more, however neither Exeter nor Forest Green are the ideal games to throw him into- he could play a blinder, but in such high-profile games, if he doesn't give a good account of himself due to lack of match practise, his confidence could take a battering.
