Time to spend some money??

Looking at the conference news pages every other team seems to be getting in a few league players for the last few games,who cant get regular places in their own teams.Perhaps we should be doing the same,I am sure with the money collected so far Andy could pay for a striker for our remaining matches.Parker and Che are better at feeding the striker than taking the chances themselves even though that was a cracking goal by Che yesterday.Also a defender wouldnt go amiss.

That's confused me too - as we signed him before any money was handed over.

 

Perhaps he was signed 'as they knew the money was coming'?

 

On top of which......a striker? Such as who?

Sorry Peter thats just panic after one expected defeat. Anyhow just because a player has football league experience it dosent guarantee success. Team spirit and commitment can bring the points required. Changing the squad around again would probably lead to confusion on the field.

I think the squad we have will see us okay, as for a defender i would imagine Duku and Barnett must be close to fitness which means Wilks will probably go up front, save the money and wait until next year.

yeah,on the doncaster forum they said we were good going forward but had a poor defence,so we need a defender,but with duku coming back do we need to buy a new defender?

I think yes, 2 x Duku in defence would be nice.....

The greatest need is for a full back, particularly if Matt Lee is going to be out for a while. Remember that Chris Giles has had to return to Yeovil. Duku is a centre back. I think that it may still be a few weeks before we see Francis starting a first team game. As long as midfielders such as Mark and Jimmy keep scoring the problem isn't so marked. We already have 6 strikers even if some of them are out of favour or playing in another position (ie in the case of Craig Wilkins). It is the defence that causes me the greatest concern.
