Bit early to get a "next match" thread up but I was just reading Exeter's message board and came across this thread. It was started just after we played there on the 22nd of September minutes after full time. Either the thread starter has a Tardis or he/she lives at the ground!

Anyway I draw your attention to page 109. The post you're looking out for was posted on this evening, on the 21st, at 21:53 by a poster under the Moniker "Bittners a Legend". I warn you though it's a bit of a long one!

Whilst reading it I thought about two things. One being that you could replace "Tisdale" with "Daish" and post it up here and it would still be relevant but perhaps more importantly that there lies an unhappy group of campers down in Ambrosia country. For the first time since I've been a supporter of this club we don't face a "cocky little club" coming off the back of new funding and ambition but instead they're the highest placed team we've faced in the FA Cup in that time and for once we're the confident ones.

A gloriously sunny autumnal late October day at Stonebridge Road, no running track, no Jeff King, no Gazza, no double glazing, no Darren Caskey and no music after a goal which I believe there has been after every goal we've conceded in the FA Cup in the last three seasons.

We can, and hopefully will, win this one so tell you mates and let’s get 1,500 down to Stonebridge Road and get through to the First Round Proper where Leeds United or Gillingham could be our next opponents.

Well worth reading though. As one of those accused in the recent past of wearing rose tinted spectacles, I can't help but notice the similarities with some of the spats there have been on here. Those who jump on the manager out bandwagon assume they are right & that those who abuse their own players during a game are exercising their human rights rather than behaving like inadequate playground bullies. Anyone who has the courage to oppose them is a "happy clapper" who should "f*ck off" back to his "bum chums" (no editing of profanities on Exeweb; no wonder I can't view it at work.) I even notice they have their own equivalent of the Tea Hut T*ssers in the fat bloke who refused to celebrate his own team's goals.

However, the likes of Foxy Jim won't be bringing their single brain cell next week. That's not to say that the majority of the away support will be challengers to Einstein (that endless chanting of "Cider" has to be a classic) but they will be loyal & loud. We will need to be at our best on the pitch & our noisiest off it to win. If we go into our shells in either department we'll be out.

It's a winnable game & God only knows we're long overdue some FA Cup excitement, but we're going to have to work hard for it.
