No great fan of the sport but a couple of observations.

the passion shown by the English players was immense. Clearly proud to represent their country. Someone lock the footballers in a room and show them that.

A decision goes against us and we lose. Did the rubgy players blame the ref. No they admitted they got beaten by a better side. Hello the whole of the football world and smell the coffee smile

Utter tosh Krooner double standards as normal.

If you actually watched the England Russia game you must have noted the effort put in by the players who were let down by lack of technique not effort. 2 mistakes by Gerrard and Robinson aided the Russia comeback and the fact that we could not hold the ball up.

The very sporting upper class rugger types were let down by one moment of poor decision making by Tait and a stupid petulant trip by Moody that led to the defeat.

I have not seen these heros castigated by the press and public nor have any of them received death threats.

What would the reaction have been if they were footballers?

Although I agree with your sentiments BM you clearly did not read my post properly.

the Rugby players showed PASSION something the majority of footballers playing for their country do not. Also if that had been a football match everything would of been on the decision not to award a try and how the ref was cr*p. In Rugby it was how we were beaten by a better team. That was my point. I never mentioned on the field stuff.

I am no Egg shaped fan but there are plenty of things in Rugby that could easily be transferred to football.

When I was in the pub watching the game I thought we had been robbed over the try, I, like Krooner am not the greatest egg chasing fan and like almost everyone in the pub did not know the rule that if the player is on the white line, that is classed as being out of play, where as in the great game of bladder booting it in still in play.

Once people new the rule it was accepted by most, only the football supporters wanted to keep moaning about it !!!

That's strange Teffers !

When I didn't see you, I chatted to Bookham Bob, who thought you were sitting in the stand.

Lack of communication, I call it !
