groundshare

Re the Observer article----interesting that the 3 clubs that were quoted hadn't been contacted by the club (Burnham, Windsor Beaconsfield), so presumably arn't in the frame. Fits in with a rumour I heard 2 weeks ago that it will be Uxbridge (Though Hayes had also been approached as a fall back). I quite like the Uxbridge ground, but its not easy to get to by public tramsport.

I agree Ted, of all the grounds I've seen this season Uxbridge was my favourite too. Good covered terraces at both ends and two half decent stands. Good food too! It was also the night we briefly went top of the division so I wonder if that's clouding my opinion?!

I wonder though how many fans will refuse to come because we're ground sharing let alone playing as relatively far afield as Uxbridge? As you say, it's quite easy by car although I'd imagine almost impossible to get to otherwise.

Oh give BOSSWEBB a chance he might be really old and cant travel that far.BOSSWEBB if you are fully able to travel why will you not make the extra effort to support your club and travel a bit further if we are groundsharing outside Berkshire??

When some of us began supporting Slough Town the whole place was in Buckinghamshire. Berkshire was then a foreign country inhabited by strange, primitive people with rural accents who wore black and white or red and green scarves and supported teams which always seemed to beat our more refined elevens by using such underhand methods as playing on dodgy pitches, running faster, tackling harder and shooting/heading better. But wasn't that was all a very long time ago?

Surely if the ground share is within 10 miles of Slough...this would be best.....

But we should all work together to ensure the nomad travels will be kept to a minium....

As for the local clubs rallying around...Thanks if this is true..nice to know they do care....But I think this was a Slough Observer reporter looking for a story.... as I think the club has been speaking to other clubs...we will see....where sooner enough...

Basically, if the club has to groundshare it will die.

If the club continue with Deaner's way of paying off debtors and new debts, the club will die.

If the club continue with Browne and his 'I couldn't give a f*ck about Slough' and his over offering for player wages, the club will die.

Basically, unless we have drastic change over the summer, we're screwed.

Ok Roger calm down i was only avin a laugh, but seriously if BOSSWEBB,who has been watching Slough for a long time isnt prepared to watch Slough if we groundshare outside of Berkshire, then what hope is there for other fans to go and watch the team.Yes there will aways be the group of diehard fans like you that will go and watch them,Gary sais we will die if we groundshare,i dont know if thats true,no one knows but what i do know is that we wont survive if the fans desert the club, lets just all stick together and do what we can to make Slough Town stay on the footballing map for many years to come.

If we go into a groundshare knowing we have a firm agreed plan for our own ground, then I don't see a problem. If, however, we go into a groundshare with no plans, then I think Gary is correct---we're stuffed. In which case what will the Thorne's do with the ground?
