i dont know how much the current owners of stfc are putting into the club on a regular basis but if the trust did run the club and took over the management of it i dont see how they could only run the club if the players played for nothing.surely the other finance would be there as it is now i.e gate money, sponsership, surport from fans who maybe might be tempted to give more if it were a fans based club, enfield town have done marvels since they formed and with a fanbase similar to ours.
maybe i am missing something and if i am i stand corrected.
thanks.especially as it has been suggested on here that stfc have no money other than the gate money.

I believe that roughly half the fans throuh the gate dont pay as they are season ticket holders, if you then work out our average gate is 210 (ish) say 70 adults and 40 concessions thats £720. 400 immediately goes to Beaconsfield thats 320£ and we dont have a home game EVERY week. What Sponsorship are you referring to? As far as im aware we have none (so to speak of) on the kit and i havent noticed any new advertising hoardings. If i've missed out anything i stand corrected but i think thats all pretty accurate.

"half the fans through the gate dont pay" well that money is there at the beginning of the season but i know what you mean, the point im trying to make although not very well is that the owners of stfc have said that they have no money except the gate money so the difficulties of running the club are the same whether it is run by the trust or the present owners, what are the costs of running a club at this level 250 thousand pounds a year maybe, sponsorship money grin yes i dont know why i put that as there doesnt seem to be many companies coming forward (looking through an old programme from 1976 i see cf lake there sponsering, good to see 30 years later still giving some support)

Agreed mate, I think the basic way to look at it is, that no one without a stack of money in the bank can afforf to run the club.
