Unless i have been kept out of the loop, the amount was much much less than that.

3rd Time: Trust cannot run the club with current out going/wages. Realistically (IMHO) the trust could only run the club if the players played for nothing, and even then with other outgoings it would require a lot of support from fans.

Agree with SR (i think it was SR-cant be bohered to scroll back up)If fans are paying wages directly they are in fact 'funding the club' and doing the job of Bernard so, in turn, i can understand the idea that they should have some control. My wages get paid by RBWM but Governors decide on hiring and firing, if they started paying my wages instead of the council surely they would have the right to tell me how to do my job.
Its an awkward situation.

I thought it was a good/funny idea what someone suggested at the match. Basically no one pays to get in but there are 16 buckets each with a players name on it. At the end of the match you choose what player gets your £8, that might get the players performing better???!!!

i dont know how much the current owners of stfc are putting into the club on a regular basis but if the trust did run the club and took over the management of it i dont see how they could only run the club if the players played for nothing.surely the other finance would be there as it is now i.e gate money, sponsership, surport from fans who maybe might be tempted to give more if it were a fans based club, enfield town have done marvels since they formed and with a fanbase similar to ours.
maybe i am missing something and if i am i stand corrected.
thanks.especially as it has been suggested on here that stfc have no money other than the gate money.

Chris,

You have my backing 100%. I will give £50 in the bucket for the next match.

Whilst some scepticism is healthy, in can lead to paralysis. I am not sure from what I have read that there are immediate transparent solutions. Some trust is required.

We do want some clarity but that is going to take a little time.

It seems to me to be more effective (and cheaper) to keep the current club afloat to give us some breathing space, with a genuine possibility of gaining a home that cannot be hijacked as was Wexham Park.

Clearly there a lots of people who care about the club here and some are pro-actively trying to do something.

I am also pushing some interested but non supporters on kit sponsorship.

Steve

I have been speaking to someone who has expressed an interest in helping the club, getting involved and protecting the clubs future. He has followed Slough all his life and he used to watch them as a 10 year old at The Dolphin ground. He is both amazed and sad at the current predicament the club finds itself in.

He is an avid football fan and he has owned and run many successful businesses. He sold his main business a couple of years ago. He is trustworthy, proactive, and takes a very much hands on approach. He has stated that he would welcome a chat with the 'powers that be' to gain a better understanding of things and to see if there is any common interest/mutual ground.

Definitely worth exploring, who would be the best person to contact and on what number. I know this guy will act swiftly he is not a time waster.

I think this thread has been a welcome, honest wake up call.

It's obvious we need a Trust EGM soon so supporters can decide what they want too do. Whatever happens we shouldn't spend all the Trust money, and if there is a meeting i would like some concrete questions asked beforehand so those of us that probably can't attend can have a postal vote.

But if the Trust won't fund the club while the application is waiting to be heard, who will?

Obviously the best way of saving the Trust money is to carry on fundraising; I thought the supporters did us proud yesterday, with the bucket collection, season ticket holders paying, complimentary tickets not being used. This has to keep happening every time we have a home game so Trust funds are protected as much as possible in case the planning application goes tits up.

Hopefully more people will be trying to get sponsorship and finding ways of trying to get the club as sustainable as possible.

I also like the idea of a few us meeting in the town centre before a game with flyers and am willing to help out with that.

It was Mark and I that suggested pre-game high street flier dropping, we both said we would be up for going in and helping before heading over to Beaconsfield, when possible, provided that the fliers with the relevant information (say a months worth of fixtures on them plus travel information) can be produced cheaply.

That is a good idea, and I would be willing to join in.

I believe that roughly half the fans throuh the gate dont pay as they are season ticket holders, if you then work out our average gate is 210 (ish) say 70 adults and 40 concessions thats £720. 400 immediately goes to Beaconsfield thats 320£ and we dont have a home game EVERY week. What Sponsorship are you referring to? As far as im aware we have none (so to speak of) on the kit and i havent noticed any new advertising hoardings. If i've missed out anything i stand corrected but i think thats all pretty accurate.

Are we paying £350 or £400 rent to Beaconsfield? I think all supporters would be interested in seeing an exact breakdown of matchday income/expenditure. Was it ever mentioned or discussed when negoiating the rent about arranging a percentage of the bar and catering taking? Even if we only got 25% that's better than nowt. I'd guess the average bar/catering spent per head would be around £2 each, meaning a gate of 200 is £400.
